Since my catalyst theft last Tuesday

I have seen on this section, several threads about van thefts, tools and a house break in

and pleas from victims to look out for their goods

would it be good idea to have

A section dedicated to theft and general awareness of whats going on.

including scams.

lots of new scams are occurring, and we could high light to save each other,

so we could have a sort of neighbour hood watch.

just a thought

Not a bad suggestion actually.

Ultimately it could also be useful for the crims to see whether their activities have a profile/community reaction, too.

But I guess that?s possible at moment anyway - if the crims are prepared to spend their time trawling through the EDF sections.

I suppose the criminals could see the reaction

but 2 of my neighbours see my theft, one got number the other put nothing to it,

until we started engine, but if we support each other and know the signs

i had an burglar knock on door years ago, to see if house was empty

when he heard me coming he escaped in a loud motor, i saw tail end of car, put on forum

over a week or two, with forum

heard they were aprehended in noisy car.

A separate Covid section made good sense - but this is already one for issues specific to East Dulwich, of which crime clearly is one. It is the section (I would guess) most frequently visited/ book marked - and thus a good one to alert people to current crime issues. Not infrequently posts may also be about things that might be crimes (knockers) but may also just be about something scary or annoying. [Clowns, for those with memories]. Discussion about crime more generally is something for The Lounge.

    • Thanks penguin  always wondered about that place and that’s way more info than I ever thought I would get  (used to live above a gun nut on friern road - he would tell me nothing)
    • There was a Saturday afternoon crowd of enthusiasts, and at other times the owner might have been off acquiring stock. He also repaired air guns, which he also sold. He stocked edged weapons, uniforms, including antique uniforms, air guns and ammo and starting pistols and shot. Some medals and other militaria. Quite a lot of ex service chit chat on a Saturday. I had an amateur interest, didn't deal a lot, in English pattern swords and other mainly 19th century militaria. And made some good purchases there. I'm afraid WWII and later events was the major focus of most of the regulars.
    • Did anyone actually venture in to that place? I recall it always being closed/very uninviting!
