  1. I guess you must be in a very small minority, myself and my Boomer friends have had both Pfizer jabs and none of us has had any symptoms whatsoever. My wife and her friends who are quite a bit younger have had the AZ vaccine and none had any symptoms either.
  2. Southwark Council has issued more than 22,000 penalty charge notices for driving through cameras in Dulwich between 11 January and 28 February. Assuming everyone paid early (?65), this equates to nearly ?1.5 million in fines. (Source OneDulwich)
  3. I support the idea as long as the posts do not provide useful tips for aspiring crims.
  4. I would wholeheartedly recommend Hamish who runs a business call "A Cut Above".
  5. Worth a read about masks.. https://www.news-medical.net/health/The-Size-of-SARS-CoV-2-Compared-to-Other-Things.aspx https://www.healthline.com/health-news/can-secondhand-smoke-transmit-the-novel-coronavirus#How-the-smoke-travels ..

It is complicit in the erosion and ultimate demise of sovereignty for individual nations.

That's just a pseudonym for surrendered sovereignty. As demonstrated consistently since the Lisbon Treaty it carries no influence or benefit. Some benefits from "Pooling" may only be attained when progression to a federal system is achieved. https://www.dailyglobe.co.uk/comment/pooled-sovereignty-is-an-oxymoron/
  8. I deeply sympathise with small retail businesses, in particular the hospitality trade, however these are unique times and difficult problems we are facing. But don't forget the Covid virus is only spread by social interaction and the hospitality trade operates exclusively in a socially interactive environment. Bricks and mortar retail less so. In such adverse situations it is inevitable that we look for scapegoats e.g. the PM and Saddiq Khan but they both have made well-considered decisions based on professional advice. Neither has made an outrageous decision and what they have decided is consistent with decisions in other European countries. There will be winners and losers for sure. Amazon is one one these but many others have done well e.g. DIY shops, hardware, bakers, greengrocers. Like wise many have reworked their business model to survive. For example we now have direct home delivery from fishmongers, florists, green grocers. It will be very difficult for certain retailers but this virus will be defeated.
  9. One guess at the rapid rise in cases is due to the number of folks queuing inside Post Office during the last 2 to 3 weeks. One I saw had a line inside that was not suitably spaced and understandable given it was raining steadily outside. Hanging around in a confined and congested space like that was highly risky. As for licking the stamps!!! Irrespective of the weather, internal queuing was banned and the line operated on a one-in, one-out basis.
  10. Had the exact same guy yesterday. Said he was from Peterlee. Pushy and rude when given a negative response.
  11. Let's just hope and pray this new variant has less severe symptoms. Most viruses mutate over time with one example being the Spanish 'Flu which eventually burnt itself after 4 waves in around 4 years. There wasn't a vaccine then so hopefully we will be spared a protracted crisis.
  12. You need to fit a one way rat blocker. The fit in to the drain pipe in the gulley outside. There will be a man hole cover outside covering the gulley. These cost between ?45 and ?120. Easy to fit. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Roshield-Rat-Drain-Guard-Stainless/dp/B07FKQLPFV/ref=asc_df_B07FKQLPFV/?tag=bingshoppinga-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=&hvpos=&hvnetw=o&hvrand=&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=e&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=&hvtargid=pla-4584001419901121&psc=1
  13. In all probability it is a poor seal around the plug hole ring. See P1. Suggest. 1. Disassemble pipework and apply a little silicone sealant inside the upper part of the aperture where the plughole ring fits in the basin. 2. Reassemble with PTFE tape around threads at point B. 3. Tighten taking care not to overdo it! Job done!

    Russia Report

Just to go back to the OP, if one wants to get a real insight into malevolence of the Russian regime/system I would highly recommend reading a book entitled "Red Notice" by Bill Browder. Totally fascinating read and the best book I've read in the last 20 years. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Browder
  15. I have plenty of spare time and just love the callers that make out they are from, BT/Micrposoft/Virgin/etc who say they have detected a virus on my PC. Expressions of mild shock/surprise on my part and expression of gratitude on my part. When they offer to help, I say OK just let me turn my PC on. Now, I have a short cut on my laptop which is to an audio file for an old dial up modem and whilst this is playing I make out I'm not too good at computers and ask for their patience. This whets their appetite no end. Between system crashes and reboots plus interruptions ( someone knocking on the front door, and having to go to the toilet, I can string them out for a good 25 minutes. Great fun to be had and it doesnt cost a penny. Even better when you put them out of their misery by telling them what you think of them. Plus you can be fairly confident they will never call you number again.

  17. There are various inserts available that can be inserted without any great effort. They come with a long handle so that one can insert it without you having to get your hands dirty. They are not cheap but do work and can be extracted again when not required. The rats will quickly learn which pipes are blocked off and will avoid in future. Suggest a google for "rat blocker" or drain guard and look for something like these...
  18. Neighbours bought a mega size TV considering they would be spending more time at home.
  19. Did a Google, and she's not exactly a "looker" is she? Could be a bit grim without all the slap on.
  20. Hey, relax, hold on a while. I admit I may be a bit of a dinosaur. I go back to before the EU/EEC/ECSC existed and no doubt way before you were even a glint in your mother's eye. I don't do social media. Don't read the Daily Mail or the Hufington Post and I can honestly say Katie Hopkins has not appeared on my radar. But now you have flagged her up, I shall do a Google.
  21. Who's Katie Hopkins?. Have I missed something that's important to my existence?
  22. Definitely would suggest taking hols in the UK this year. That helps the economy here recover rather than let Johnny Foreigner benefit from your hard earned. :)
  23. Once the villains have a key they can keep going back again and again. One decent bike and their investment gives a profit. Then everything thereafter is pure profit. A more secure system is required.
  24. Vacuum cleaners. The EU dictated that vacuum cleaners should have a maximum power of 850 watts on the basis that it would save energy. It is acknowledged in the industry that the optimum power is around 1200Watt as this gives worthwhile suction. With 850W it takes twice as long to do a decent job - so the energy saving argument is negated.
