Wouldn't it be lovely if the actual bike could be identified via GPS/time/triangulation and that it turned out that the perp had hired it using their own credit card and that the police would act decisively if given that info. Sadly I think there's too many ifs in that sentence. But well done for being a good samaritan. -

Keep the phone charged and the owner might eventually locate you if you leave a note on your door ("I found your phone") else they might think it's where the thief lives....
