Blimey, there is almost nothing on this topic on previous threads at all.

These are the best I could do.

Dulwichmum on a mother and baby group.

and err...dulwichmum talking about the same group on a different thread

Couldn't really find anything on the Southwark Council site specifically to single parents either I'm afraid.

I tried :(

Just a guess, but wouldn't surprise me if single parents have typically less free time to sit down and indulge in EDF chat. So they would be under-represented on this forum. Let's look at the evidence:

Cherry - registered 04/07 - number of posts 3, average 0.01 posts per day

Mockney Piers - registered 11/06 - number of posts 4,508, average 10 posts per day

And that, members of the jury, is the case for the prosecution.

I am single parent family, the family (two daughters) stay generally with there mother and I have the pleasure of their company to get their car fixed when it gives trouble.

Sadly I don't think I am the right age group for anyone to be interested 60+.

So this is a totally irrelevent post, and I wished I had gone to bed earlier.

Could swear in earlier posts you went "away" away for 2 years, were you married at the time? Or did you foster your kids out? not nit picking just curious, as a father myself get fed up with the one sided pictures a lot of single (particularly female) parents paint of absent fathers

I am very confused by some of the responses to this genuine post. Is it a joke that a single parent may be trying to find a local network of people in a similar situation?

Cherry, I know a number of local single parents but Muttley is probably right, many don't have time to sit down and respond to the forum.

Good luck.

Thanks EDmummy, your right I was just wondering if there was anyone locally in a similar situation to me, as despite knowing loads of parents round here I don't know any who are single. Looks like the forum isn't the best place to find them but then where is??

Hi Chav, with you on the wardrobe comment but annoyingly don't get the free babysitting!

So Maximay you say you are a Father yourself, but when discussing what to get at Xmas you said "Lucky he gets them anything, my kid's dad gets them bugger all!".

I think it is about time you declared your vested interest in slagging me off and stop hiding behind anonymity, unless that is you're scared incase instead of judging me, you yourself become the one 'in the dock'.

I have a feeling Maximay is in fact female, lied about having a child who died from an overdose, is intimately connected with my ex-husband and feels the need to have a go at me for her own sad reasons.

My ex-husband is part of my past and although we are civil to each other nowadays for the sake of the kids, Maximay seems to be unable to move on or accept there may have been some blame in the breakdown of our marriage to lay at his door as well as mine.

    • I’d also recommend Paul for electrical work. He came round the other week to help us out with a handful of jobs (installing an SPD, new light fittings, installing a dimmer switch, a bathroom fan). His quote was cheaper than what I got from others, he turned up on time and he got the job done quickly.
    • We’d like to add our recommendation for Lukasz and team at L&L Building & Maintenance.  Lukasz has recently installed a roof terrace for us, and we’ve found him a pleasure to work with from start to finish. We contacted about a dozen recommended builders and found his quote very competitive. During the build his team delivered quality work, they were no hassle in the house at all and they kept the place tidy every day. The terrace looks great, and we’re very happy customers. What stood out in particular was Lukasz’s responsiveness, right from discussing quotes to follow-up during the build. Lukasz often checked in and was always available when we needed him.  We’ll definitely contact Lukasz again for future building work and we’d happily recommend him to others looking for a reliable builder.   Lukasz Kugaczewski L&L Building & Maintenance 07926651960 [email protected] www.landl-build.com
    • Yes, I did mention the train, which I now get from East Dulwich to Guys instead of the 40. Depends where in East Dulwich you are starting from which route is easiest! I think it is probably lack of staff rather than lack of hospitals which is the problem?
    • What can be done? How about reporting it to the police?
