Environment Champions Club - free virtual club

Recommended Posts

Do you know a young wildlife hero or waste warrior? Is your child an Environment Champion?

Join the Horniman Environment Champions Club ? a free virtual club for people who want to do something about the climate and ecological emergency.

Our Environment Champions Club is open to everyone but aimed at families with children between six and 10. It will provide answers to your questions about the climate and ecology, inspiration for positive actions against climate breakdown and learning activities.

Club members will take part in activities at home or in the local community ? from gardening that supports bees, to cooking a meat-free meal. The club?s Facebook group will be the activity hub, where families can also share ideas and progress with the other club members, with free action charts and badges to use.

    • They’ve backed away from pretending they produce their own goods recently. That claim sat at the centre of the misdirection for years. They’ve now accepted they can’t sustain it, so they’re beginning to highlight the local independent bakeries whose products they actually sell. The business is essentially a courier model running on a slim margin.
    • Another sparrow hawk visor to our cherry tree at the weekend.  Our robin survived, but we may be a sparrow down.     any thoughts on bird feeders & bird baths with the current bird flu?  I try to wash out the bird bath most days when at home, but not on the 3 days in a row that I’m in the office & the bird feeders rather less regularly. Would it be better not to have at all (as my partner thinks)?
    • OOOPS. My daughter just had to pay a five pound fine. I hadn't put a stamp on it. I remember wondering whether to use a  first or second class stamp,  and clearly when I posted it I still hadn't decided (but sadly didn't notice). I feel really bad for suspecting a postie might have  opened it.  Sorry posties.
