Join the Horniman Environment Champions Club ? a free virtual club for people who want to do something about the climate and ecological emergency. Our Environment Champions Club is open to everyone but aimed at families with children between six and 10. It will provide answers to your questions about the climate and ecology, inspiration for positive actions against climate breakdown and learning activities. Enjoy music from the 16th to 18th centuries by composers including Handel, Monteverdi and Haydn, performed by prize-winning and acclaimed musicians. 11 September: Helen Charlston (mezzo-soprano) and Terence Charlston (virginals and square piano) Enjoy a programme of music by Frescobaldi, Barbara Strozzi, Handel, Elisabetta de Gambarini and Haydn. Helen won first prize in the 2018 Handel Singing Competition and is a Rising Star of the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment. Terence Charlston is Professor of Harpsichord at the Royal College of Music and an active chamber musician. 12 September: Stephen Farr (chamber organ) Stephen performs on an English chamber organ c.1800 with its original features. Hear a programme of chamber organ music from the late Baroque and early Classical periods. Stephen is an acclaimed organist, having played with many of the world?s leading ensembles and at major venues including the BBC Proms and Royal Festival Hall.
