Wanted recommendations for a Party wall surveyor

Hi,

We are set to do a kitchen extension this year and although I'm new to the world of extensions! I believe as well as needing an architect to do the drawings of the kitchen we need a Surveyor to draw up the party wall agreement. Has anyone just used one they can recommend? Do you know how this process works and the approximate cost?

Many thanks in advance for your help.

Hi

Your Architect should really advise you on this, (we normally advise our clients of the process and prepare the party wall notice letters etc.) but it is all explained here: https://www.gov.uk/government/upoads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/35796/party_wall_guide-new-p35.pdf.

Costs can vary. If your neighbours do not contest the work then you do not need to form a party wall agreement and so there should be no requirement for a surveyor or associated costs. If they do costs can vary, depending on how many neighbours are involved and what surveyor they choose to use. If you end up having to deal with a surveyor or surveyors I would budget about ?1000 per neighbour involved.

Hope that helps

I would be happy to recommend nick Stockley at design squared, they are a local company and thoroughly decent.

We live in ED and they guided us through a side return extension from start to finish. I honestly don't know where we would have been without them. This was especially the case with a less than helpful neighbour when it came to the party wall agreement! They also stuck to the price though I have no doubt it took a lot more time than expected.

Hope this helps and happy to show you what we ended up with if it would help.

    • The purge of hard left members that were part of Corbyn's, Mcdonnel's and Lansmans momentum that purged the party of right wing and centrist members. That's politics. It's what Blair did to win, its what Starmer had to do to win. This country doesn't vote in extreme left or right governments. That's partly why Corbyn lost  We're pretty much a centrist bunch.  It doesn't make it false either. It's an opinion based on the voting patterns, demography and statistics. Can you explain then why former mining constituencies that despise the tories voted for them or abstained rather than vote for Corbyns Labour?  What is the truth then? But he never got elected!!! Why? He should have been binned off there and then. Why he was allowed to hang about is an outrage. I hold him party responsible for the shit show that we've had to endure since.
    • Depends on what the Barista says doesnt it? There was no physical confrontation with the driver, OP thinks she is being targetted when she isnt. These guys work min wage under strict schedules so give them a break unless they damage your stuff
    • CPR Dave, attendance records are available on Southwark's website. Maggie Browning has attended 100% of meetings. Jon Hartley has attended 65%.
    • I do hope NOT, wouldn't trust Farage as far as I could throw him, Starmer & co.  He's backed by GB News which focus's predominantly on immigration while the BBC focus predominantly on the Israel - Gazza conflict.
