  1. Oh I thought it was crows fly distance. How do you calculate the walking distance?
  2. Hi, does anyone know if Therapia road would fall into the catchment for Forest Hill boys secondary school? Or what the catchment distance this year is for that school? Thanks
  3. I find this whole catchment thing ridiculous. Thanks for letting me know. I've managed to find an as the crow flys app & measured the distance for both East and North charter. We are 1.12km to e.d and 1.09km to N.D
  4. Thank you for letting me know...so potentially ED charter haven't extended their catchment at all. Would anyone know when is best to call the schools to ask what the furthest distance ended up being?
  5. Hi, I will be applying this October for my sons 2021 secondary school place & would be interested to know this years catchment stretch. We live near the library top end of Lordship lane & are currently not in catchment for either Charter school. Has anyone who lives this end of E.D found out today if they've got into either. Many thanks in advance.
  6. May I ask if anyone who has a child who lives far end of crystal palace road/lordship lane end I.e near the little sainsburys/library got in to either East Dulwich or North Dulwich charter? If not where did you get and will you wait it out on the wait list? Thanks
  7. How do you get it to do the straight line on google? I can see where we are and the school is but the route isn't a straight line
  8. Would anyone know an app or website that calculates the 'as the crow flies' distance for you? Thanks
  9. As well as North chsrter does anyone know Harris Boys Peckham rye as well?
  10. Anyone know Charter North or Harris Boys Peckham rye?
  11. Thanks everyone. Do you know what the furthest distance was this year for North Dulwich Charter?
  12. P.s Also is there an app or a way of working out the distance on a map. We are the small Sainsburys end of Lordship Lane
  13. If I'm not too late to this post can I ask if anyone knows wgat the catchment distance was this year for the new charter? Thank you
  14. Hi, just beginning to think about the summer holidays and things I can do with the kids. Does anyone know of an outdoors woodland/forest school style activity in this area? Or a creative drop in. It would be for a 7, 4 and possibly even a 2yr old. Thanks in advance
  15. Hi, We've finally booked our summer holiday and part of it will be in Rome and Florence. I just wondered if any of you have stayed in either or both with children and would have recommendations for where to stay/eat etc. We will only be in Florence for one night, but in Rome for three. There will be two adults and three children. Ideally we would be walking distance to the main attractions, but could get public transport in. Thanks in advance
  16. Hi, Can you help. Ive posted a few times a couple of days ago and then when I went into my control centre where I can see I am following my posts and tried to go back to them to add to post it says sorry the post cannot be found. I then redid all of my posts yesterday and saw them up after I had done them but again they have now disappeared. Would anyone know why or what I need to do? Presuming this post doesn't also disappear Thank you
  17. Hi, we used to have a door in front of our existing porch and front door to minimise noise and add security. It was a wooden door and was in a bad state so we got rid of it. I would now like to get a new door ideally mirroring the glass panels in the existing front door and above it so that the light can still come in. Although not as nice looking happy to consider a UPVC one and wondered if anyone has had an outer door put on and can recommend a company to do so. It needs to be very secure and ideally sound proof. Thanks in advance.
  18. Hi, I live in East dulwich and am currently not happy with the cleaning agency I have. Does anyone use an agency currently that they can recommend? I am looking to start with a new one this week if possible. Thank you
  19. It's good to know there are a few of us brave mums of three out there and all coping. It's definitely hard work, but also worth it. Getting three out of the house on time in the morning is always challenging and yes the witching hour or two hours post school, including the pickup, is exhausting and normally at any one time has two or more of us melting down.
  20. Hi, I was hoping someone might be able to advise/recommend. We have three Velux windows in our new loft that need blinds but the ones to fit them on the Velux website are nearly ?100 each. They would be simple roller blinds made of blackout material so silver lining on one side and coloured fabric on other and obviously will fit straight on, but I just think they are so expensive for what they are. Has anyone else got around the expense and got someone to make them blinds that will fit or does anyone know of a cheaper alternative? Any help appreciated. Thanks
  21. Yes I have thank you, but will try again and I have emailed Phil and Ted directly so we'll see
  22. Hi, does anyone know if with this model of the pram the top seat for the toddler (we have the configuration as the newborn on bottom in the removable baby carrier and toddler seat above)can be pushed upright. The seat slopes back which is an awkward position for my nearly two year old to be in but there appears nothing to hold the seat up, you can use it up and then it just falls back again. Hoping I am making sense and there is a solution? Thanks
  23. Thank you for the recommendation. I am still finding it hard to decide and wondering rather than rushing into buying a new cot bed if anyone on the forum is thinking about selling their one, particularly the makes I mentioned. Would be really interested in a large cot bed in white wood that would last a decent amount of time I.e until my child is five of six. Thank you.
  24. Hi, I'm expecting my third baby so am going to put my first two into share. Rather than use the existing cotbed I thought I would buy a new one for the second child to have when he moves into the first's room as he will only be 17months and then there won't be too much change for him. I am struggling to work out which cotbed would be best, especially in regard to how long it will last him. The ones I have looked at are: East Coast Nursery Austin cotbed, Obaby Grace cotbed and Homebase's Curve cotbed. They are all about the same size so just wondering if anyone had one to recommend. Ideally I would have gone straight for an adult single bed as my eldest has but I think as I said he is too young and it is too much change. Thank you
