  1. Hi, We are set to do a kitchen extension this year and although I'm new to the world of extensions! I believe as well as needing an architect to do the drawings of the kitchen we need a Surveyor to draw up the party wall agreement. Has anyone just used one they can recommend? Do you know how this process works and the approximate cost? Many thanks in advance for your help.
  2. Hi Ariadna, Now it's the new year I just wondered what is happening with the refresher course? Is it still going to go ahead and will you send out information or booking forms? Many thanks Katie
  3. Hi everyone, well in the end there was only three of us, was expecting a few more mums/mums to be but at least we got the ball rolling. Really nice to meet you Louise and Sarah. We thought that maybe another meetup, same location one afternoon in January might work well..once the christmas rush is all over so maybe I'll post again nearer the time. Hope the other meetups go well and for those of you on baby number two have a look further up the discussion for a refresher course set to run at the mag possibly beg of March. Katie x
  4. I think i started the ball rolling with 3-3.30pm so shall we stick to that. We can try and get a large space on the right hand side of G&B Katie
  5. Hi Birth Matters, do you run anything for second timers? I have just looked up the nct refresher course and there is one available in March nxt year but Herne Hill. It is only two sessions as a refresher but still pretty expensive. I'd be interested to know if you do an alternative to this as to be in e.d would be better and there is def enough mums having second babies on here to do it. Thanks Katie
  6. Hi all, Looking like quite a few of us can make G&B's on friday the 14th which is great. I can also do Friday 25th Jan if in the morning I have two hours when my little boy is in nursery, although may be a bit of a rush, then all afternoon with him. Katie x
  7. Hi all, Why don't we say 3 - 3.30pm for Green and Blue on Friday the 14th December, maybe if you can make it then reply and we can gwet a rough idea of how many of us will be there. Katie x
  8. Hi all, Shall I just crack on and suggest a date. I met one of the other mums to be on this discussion board today and she felt a day meetup might work well too. How about Green and Blue, as there is room for those of us with prams and toddlers, for Friday the 14th December. That gives us all a couple of weeks and we can see how many of us can make it? Any takers? Katie x
  9. Hi, evenings to meetup aren't that easy for me, and im guessing for quite a few as have to get littleone to bed and wait for my husband to get home. If the next meetup could be in the day for those that can make it that would be great and somewhere on l.l would work i think...say Green and BLue.Shall we get a couple of meetups planned? Say the day one next week?
  10. Hi all, I am pregnant with my second baby and due beg of April. My little boy will be nearly three when baby arrives. Loving being pregnant again and would like to join a meetup with those of you in this group. Im a full time mum so can do something in the day.
  11. ok so I have just been to Bright Horizons and thought I understood it until I read all these posts again. They said the minimum amount I could do is one day - where of that one day 6 hours is paid for leaving four hours to pay for. So to put him in for one day a week it would cost ?133.40 a month. I don't think you can pay any less as one day is the minimum. I didn't ask but I assume that means you couldn't just put them in for the morning free session of 8-11 or the afternoon one of 3-6pm.
  12. Wow, ok so I am confused agsain....I'm going to Bright Horizons later today so will ask but I do want half days not a full day and don't want to be putting him in for a day but having to pay for most of it when the government vouchers do not cover it sll.I am sure that My favourite place nursery do do half days and so I could get that covered by the vouchers. I'm not sure if they break for the hoilidays there but I don't mind having him home for holidays
  13. Thankyou so much. I think i actually understand it now. I guess when I get to the point of signing up for a nursery i'll be able to say I only want three half days and ask if that will be covered.I'm not aware of any of the schools near me having preschools/nursery although that would be great
  14. Hi, I am struggling to get my head around how it works when your little one turns three with the government vouchers - the 15 hours of nursery time you are meant to get and how that works at all the various nurseries in Dulwich. I am feeling very confused and I am sure it really isn't that confusing. I assumed that if I wanted to put my little one when he is three in a nursery for three half days that if that totalled 15 hours it would be covered by the government and I wouldn't have to pay anything. However, one nursery I saw today said you do pay an amount on top of the free time because they are open all year. At another place I assumed that the three half day sessions of 5 hours each would be covered and I am sure they are open to all year......how does it all work??? I am interested in the Bright norizons nursery (which mentions the free sessions as being 8-11 or 3-6) and my favourite nursery. Thank you in advance
  15. We thought of that, but think two hours is more the limit of little one!
  16. Hi everyone, we are looking to get away for a week with our 20month year old in march and I just wanted To ask for any ideas.I think long flights and long drives are out and hotels.....struggling to come up with ideas. It's a whole different world planning a holiday with a; little one isn't it!6
  17. Great, will he post on here when the details are confirmed - that would be great
  18. thank you so much for replying guys - managed to lose my threas so only just read these. I will look into all of those ones, any more suggestions welcomed
  19. :)Hi, We are considering doing our side return, extending the kitchen into the garden with folding glass doors out onto the garden and the garden to be landscaped i.e decking. We'd also like to squeeze in a downstairs toilet, possible shower room. Its a big job and we're keen to get a few quotes from reliable, competitively priced local tradesman/building companies and also local landscape gardeners. I know lots of houses in dulwich will have had this done and we are really hoping to get some recommendations. Many thanks if you can help :)
  20. Hi all, I just wanted to ask some advice as really stuck for things to do at the moment. My little one is nearly 15months and having finished baby sensory I wanted to find at least one thing to do regularly each week. I have tried Gymbabes/tumbletots and although it was great for him to crawl around and play with all the soft toys that's all it seemed to be for an hour and so you end up paying for just playing in a room!!! I would like something that doesn't cost a fortune and is a bit more interactive like baby sensory used to be until he grew out of it. Any advice/recommendations appreciated. Thanks
  21. Great, I'm really stuck for things to do at the moment. My little one is nearly 15months and have finished baby sensory and wasn't massively impressed with Gymbabes/tumbletots...this would be fab, def keep us posted
  22. I would definitely like to do this and know a few others mums who would too
  23. Hi ? I am sure that questions on prams are always being asked but just wanted to quickly ask people?s opinion on the I-Candy Peach versus the Bugaboo. My hubbie and I have just started researching buggies and these two seem very popular and have the whole travel system. Importantly also, as we are thinking of going abroad when we have our baby for a holiday, they both ok to put the baby to sleep in so we wouldn?t have to get a holiday travel cot. We went into Peter Jones to try then both out and I think the Bugaboo wins, but just wanted to get opinions. It is definitely the one I see the most of in E.D. Also - if we did go for the Bugaboo does anyone have any recommendations for where to get the whole package at the best price? Peter Jones was very expensive and didn't for the cost include the carseat. I?d love to hear your thoughts.
