Getting Image Sizes Small Enough?

Sorry to post here - but can't find any advice elsewhere. How does one get photos small enough to post as part of listings? I have an iPhone and even after compressing photos using online software it still exceeds the 600kb limit.

Any advice greatly welcome

I do it ?the long way around?. I email the photos to myself. When sending the email I am asked if I want the photo to be sent as small / medium / large. Pick small or medium (lower resolution) and then then re- save the photo to your phone.

I am sure there is an easier way to do it though!

I transfer onto PC and right click open with paint shop and top left hand corner reduce image size until I get to about 175kb

Hi! I have an apple too! I text it to myself, open in messages, open in preview, then I zoom out until the square is small, and then screenshot the image, command+shift+4 to draw a square over the smaller image. Finally, I used compresspng .com or .uk can?t remember if you google will come up! Select the small screen shotted image from my desktop and then it usually compresses by 70 ish% which is more than enough to upload multiple to one post. Hope that makes sense! Happy to answer any questions if it doesn?t :)

There are apps that you can buy that are quite good at reducing all sorts of files. Yuo would think by now wonderful Apple would have this built into the photos app

Compress Photos, free on App Store

Just upload your pictures to imgur.com and share the link in your post. Much quicker than fighting compression requirements.

You can drop your photos on their homepage. It will create a webpage with your pics. Share that link in your post...done.

Just download an app, I use Image Size for EDF photo posting.

Hi,

Its super easy if you are on iphone, When you select the image from your camera role you will see three options at the bottom of the image, Cancel - actual size and choose. If you click on actual size a list will pop up giving you the option to upload the smallest size. I didnt realise it was a button for ages but it actually gives you different size options.

Oh my goodness Analogmal you have just changed my life with this!

I can't believe it. I have been emailing images to myself as medium then saving to my phone then uploading, for years and years and year and it's SUCH A PAIN.
