Spartacus
Imagine if this development went ahead along with the proposal for Barry Parade (application ref : 18/AP/2238)The junction of Barry Road would become a nightmare 😱 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/282544-proposed-development-of-kings-court-barry-road/#findComment-1505740 Share on other sites
Nigello
A nightmare of people living where they wanted to? 🤷♂️ Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/282544-proposed-development-of-kings-court-barry-road/#findComment-1505749 Share on other sites
Spartacus
Nigello, with the proposal for a "supermarket local" type store at the bottom of the Barry Parade development, with a loading bay outside for delivery Lorry's , mixed with a bus stop opposite the click house, plus additional cars for the Kings Court development topped off by drivers visiting the store it just doesn't bode well for road safety at that junction. DuncanW
I don't have a major issue with there being more homes/flats there than the current situation, but the original block is looking a bit tired already - how does it work just 'dumping' another two stories on top of that building?? I'm sure it's possible, but it doesn't seem like the blueprint for a great development.BTW - what's happening about the Barry Parade development? IT looks like planning permission was granted a while back? Nigello
Remove the bus stop (there?s one about three minutes? walk away in both directions)and oppose deliveries before 8am and after 7pm. 🤷♂️ Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/282544-proposed-development-of-kings-court-barry-road/#findComment-1505874 Share on other sites
tedfudge
The congestion that would cause while construction of the building and facilities it would be horrendous.. I live on Barry road and sometimes the traffic is terrible especially speeding drivers.. my house already has cracks and subsidence due to the amount of buses and lorries going up and down the road. Imagine if that goes ahead all the big lorries going up and down the road then sitting on Barry road near clock house unloading supplies and then if knocking building down first all the machinery and tipper trucks waiting to be filled with rubble.. it would be an absolute nightmare couple that if and when they decide to do the other side of the road it's going to be a nightmare especially for those that live so close to that part ..
