Garden wall damage by dangerous HIT and RUN driver. On Friday 16th at approx. 2.30 pm a corner of our Belleneden Rd front garden wall was knocked down by a grey couple.

A neigbour saw the tail end of the incident and reports that there were to people in the front of the car, one of whom was looking very distraught.Unfortunately the neighbour was unable to get the Registration no.

The grey car involved has to have been seriously damaged as the end pier was strenthened with metal

If you have very recently noticed a badly damaged grey coupe parked/abandoned could you please let me know, together with it@ Reg. No,

This was an act of very dangerous driving - someone cd have been badly hurt - the driver needs to be found

I have a tremor and find it impossible to put location of incident, however it happened Lidl's end of Bellenden Rd. The car cd be anywhere.

If you are fairly local did your CTV pick anything up of the getaway?

I wd be grateful if you wd circulate ..Thank you.

Hi there - I would try the shops near you as quite a few have external CCTV nowadays. Given you know the direction the car drove off and the exact time it happened I reckon you stand a good chance of catching the driver on camera.

Good luck!

Thanks for ur input.

Wasn't far from two drivers racing each other yesterday on Norwood Road, mid evening. Never seen anything like it in London, well over 70mph and cms apart from each other and a parked van that I instinctively hid behind with my pushbike. But not practicing what I preach I have not yet reported it as it happened so fast I got no make, model of number plates. Racing on the public road is an offence.

Southwark Council has a CCTV manager. Try the main switchboard

Ah - you have seen the damage.

The speed bump has only just been er elongated... coupe must still have been going very fast.

Yep, Pier /gate post with tiling on it has steel re-inforcing so car must have been badly damaged and going far too fast. A Trevor on here kindly google mapped and found CCT cameras, have tried the council as one of thiers must have picked up it up - automated reply said to forward it to XXXX.. Police not being very helpful. I can't see how car can have got out of local area with out being caught by a camera. Have given up now, and handed whole thing over to insurance co. much as I woul like the driver to be punished for driving so dangerously

Big mistake, but my Aunt was very old, and this was the Covid years and shortly after so impossible to intervene and get a couple of close relatives to do this.  She had no children so this is the nephews and nieces. He is a single practitioner, and most at his age would have long since retired - there is a question over his competence Two letters have already gone essentially complaining - batted off and 'amusingly' one put the blame on us. There are five on our side, all speaking to each other, and ideally would work as a single point of contact.  But he has said that this is not allowed - we've all given approval to act on each others behalf. There are five on her late husband's side, who have not engaged with us despite the suggestion to work as a team, There is one other, who get's the lion's share, the typicical 'friend', but we are long since challenging the will. I would like to put another complaint together that he has not used modern collective communication (I expect that he is incapable) which had seriously delayed the execution of the will.   I know many in their 80s very adept with smart phones so that is not an ageist comment. The house has deteriorated very badly, with cold, damp and a serious leak.  PM me if you want to see the dreadful condition that it is now in. I would also question why if the five of us are happy to work together why all of us need to confirm in writing.
    • Isn’t a five yearly electricity safety certificate one of the things the landlord must give for a legal tenancy?
    • Very sorry to hear this, but surely the landlord is responsible for fixing the electrics?  Surely they must be insured for things like this? I hope you get it all sorted out quickly.

We have been forced to close for one of the busiest weekends of the year, losing thousands of pounds in income, and are now having to fight our landlords for support with the leak. We are asking all our allies for support as we try and reignite the crowdfunder to reflect the new expensive work that needs to take place, and the gear we need to replace.
