I don't yet know what happened between the completion of the Select Committee inquiry and the transfer of the remaining common land to state ownership.


It seems that the Select Committee told Bowyer that he had been a very naughty boy, but that he could keep the land he had taken, provided that he promised to make no more land grabs.


The extent of the "lost" common land can be seen from this extract from the 1733 map.
