ed26
Hello. I'm just being unbelievably nosey but it bugs me every time I go past here (near Goodrich Road junction). Why would the Council / Conway resurface Upload Road, then put white lines along the dropped kerb bits, and then black them out again? This would suggest that the white lines were invalid and people are allowed to park there, although I wouldn't out of courtesy for the people who live in the houses. Seems strange. Spartacus
Maybe the council employee was singing the 1983 classic White lines Don't, don't do it maybe, maybeAnd got confused Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/285002-upland-road-dropped-kerbs/#findComment-1512369 Share on other sites
Abe_froeman
They seem to be putting double yellows in across dropped curbs (plus half a car's length either side) elsewhere now, so maybe the white lines were a mistake and double yellows will eventually replace them. TJ
This makes no sense. If there is a 2 car family, then they can have one car on the drive (charging for example) and they can happily block themselves in. Why reduce parking?Makes no sense at all. Sonners
The contractors put the white lines in by accident as Southwark?s policy for a number of years has been to no longer paint these. So Southwark asked the contractors to paint over them.I don?t think this means that you can park over the dropped kerbs as it is an offence to block cars in by parking over a dropped kerb regardless of white lines.
