Hello. I'm just being unbelievably nosey but it bugs me every time I go past here (near Goodrich Road junction).

Why would the Council / Conway resurface Upload Road, then put white lines along the dropped kerb bits, and then black them out again? This would suggest that the white lines were invalid and people are allowed to park there, although I wouldn't out of courtesy for the people who live in the houses. Seems strange.

The contractors put the white lines in by accident as Southwark?s policy for a number of years has been to no longer paint these. So Southwark asked the contractors to paint over them.

I don?t think this means that you can park over the dropped kerbs as it is an offence to block cars in by parking over a dropped kerb regardless of white lines.

    • You may be assuming I will soon get round to doing this. Unfortunately it is presently not near the top of my extremely long "to do" list 😥 However I now know what to do when I feel the urge to take action, which is great! It  could be one of the random things I suddenly start on when I get fed up with the more important and/or urgent things .....
    • But the second weekend mentioned is a free community event? Horniman gardens often have events. At least, I have been to several in the past. I wouldn't have thought the green area of the park at Telegraph Hill was big enough?
    • Paul just did my bathroom, very swift and neat job and I would highly recommend. I got a few quotes and his was the cheapest as well.
    • It would be a relief if that is the case but GALA, at least, have a vested interest in expanding the event to more than one weekend; with all the infrastructure in place it makes financial sense for them to get more use out of it.
