AnnieT
Hi there,We are considering going away for a month and therefore renting out our property. Has anyone done this before and if so, do you have any advice or tips? We are thinking of using an agency rather than going privately. Any recommendations on an agency? Many thanks,Annie Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/28511-short-term-letting-advice-on-renting-your-property/ Share on other sites
DulwichFox
I have rented out property before. (Long Term) Even Short let... Before you can rent out your property you must have in place a Gas Safety Certificate.(Landlords Cert.) You also need to inform the Local Authorities you intend to do so and get permission from any Mortgage provider and also from any insurance companies. Fox. polla2256
NOOOOO....You don't need an agent - They rip off both lanlords and tenants alike.Just look at what you need to do legally - You can also claim tax relief (I think) if you want to go down that route.Or just ask a friend of a friend. Coman
You would need to include rental information on your tax return, even though the length of your stay is very short.
