Hi

I?m looking for any feedback on local nursery?s- I have an almost 2 year old who I?m hoping to send to nursery full time from mid June.

Our childcare arrangements are about to change unexpectedly, so I have not looked into this before

I?m looking for any information re nurseries near to / on Barry road east dulwich, or off lordship lane/ goose green.

I?m not sure if there are currently waiting lists for places, or how long I might have to wait for a place! Thanks for any advice! PMs are also welcome!

From reading entries on this Forum - I get the impressions that there are long waiting lists for all nurseries. There is one in Barry Road on the junction with Goodrich - cannot remember it's name. Gumboots on Crystal Palace Road but they always have a long waiting list. There was a nursery in Upland Road near Goodrich School not sure if this is still open.

I think the old Mother Goose on Upland Road might have space - now called Purple Jay I think. Mine went there years ago so can?t really recommend but worth a look.

Little Jungle and My Favourite Nursery also worth looking at but always have long waiting lists. It might depend on whether you can be flexible with days.

Mother Goose on Upland, Little Fingers also on Upland, and Little Fingers on Barry Road. All good but some have spaces so worth ringing ad hoc and you can sometimes bypass the waiting list (I found that those calling all the time magicked a space quicker than me sitting back on the waiting list!).

    • You can get a card at the till, though, to get the discount. You don't have to carry it with you (or load it onto your phone), you can just get a different card each time. Not sure what happens if they notice 🤣
    • Yes..that may be the case but membership STARTING at £115 a month is still unafforable for many. Council gyms also have a large range of equipment and I had a  PT at Dulwich leisure centre when I was in Full Time employment who was incredible and even kept in contact during lockdown giving me a program I could do at home and checking in weekly at no charge or personal gain for herself. I dont doubt that Fit For may be a good gym (Its been in situ long enough so must be doing something right) However the cost of membership means it is affordable for the few not the many. If I could afford that kind of fee I would rather get a train to Canary Wharf and go to Virgin active where theres a pool and incredible classes and facilities
    • This sounds great 👍
    • We found a red TREK bike yesterday that had clearly been stolen and dumped. Would love to reunite it with its owner. Get in touch if you know whose it is.
