U3A Day - Wednesday 2nd June

Dulwich & District u3a offers around 100 interest groups which meet regularly and also monthly talks.

Visit our stands at Dulwich Picture Gallery, Brockwell Park, Windrush Square, Forest Hill Library and Peckham.

There will be flash mob appearances of the ukulele group if you are lucky !

Dulwich & District u3a will be at the following locations:


*Dulwich Picture Gallery garden, 11am to 3pm, with displays by some of our art groups

*Windrush Square, 11am to 3pm, with a ukulele performance at 12 noon

*Brockwell Park caf?, 11am to 4pm, with a ukulele performance at 3.30pm

*outside Forest Hill Library, 2pm to 3.30pm, with a ukulele performance at 2pm and reading by the creative writing group

*outside Peckham Library, 10am to 3pm

*Rosebery Lodge: display of posters and leaflets

    • Is Dell Autos closing down completely or just moving? For whatever it's worth, for MOTs I've had good recent experience with The Test Centre in Deptford. They only do MOTs so they don't have any particular incentive to fail you and they usually have same day appointments. Open 7 days a week and late. https://www.thetestcentre.co.uk/our-test-centres/deptford-branch/ Obviously you would still need a "normal" garage to do servicing and repairs etc.
    • So what is the issue? You want compensation for the loss of value, or you want to expedite the matter?
    • No. What happened? I actually thought, considering it was what we used to call Guy Fawkes Day last night, the loud noises from  fireworks ended remarkably early. About 9pm? Maybe I just fell asleep and didn't hear any later ones. Do people actually burn Guys any more? Apart from at places like Lewes, where I believe they still have Bonfire Societies and burn effigies of various political figures etc.
    • The accompaniment to our "Christmas Pudding" aka Nothing-Whatever-Like-A- Christmas-Pudding last year  at The Cherry Tree was "brandy butter ice-cream." If it had ever been near any brandy, the brandy must have been waved in its direction from a very great distance. Same with butter. The ice cream tasted like bog standard "vanilla" from a catering tub. At least it did bear some resemblance to ice cream. Whereas the "Christmas Pudding" bore no resemblance whatever to any Christmas Pudding I have ever seen or tasted in my many  decades of seeing and tasting Christmas Puddings. Oh, and Cinzano Bianco. Bleurgh. My sister used to drink that. 🤢
