Posting here as well as in wanted section...

I am a decades-long cyclist, musician and now of course, mobile-phone user. My posture is increasingly knackered and having looked up a few articles I'm looking for someone to diagnose and assist in fighting back.

Does anyone have a recommendation with an idea of cost? Preferably avoiding riding up to the Crystal Palace sports physio...

Thank you.

For the uninitiated Yoga can seem a bit of a minefield with image after image of the young beautiful holding positions achievable by very few of us, especially if you're starting at our age.

I've been practising yoga for around 5+ years now and although I might not always feel I've benefited, I'm sure I have and not just physically. For posture and alignment I think your best style is Iyengar, it's focus is all about alignment. Generally it's not as dynamic and fast-paced as other styles with a heavy focus on ensuring the position is right rather than following a sequence or flow. It relies heavily on props (typically a chair and blocks) and adapts well to people of all levels.

An alternative - which I have had little experience of tbh, is Feldenkrais. Check it out. There is lovely lady that lives locally called Sarah Jettoo who teaches both Yoga (not Iyengar) and Feldenkrais who would no doubt be happy to pass on some advice.

Sit at a desk or table, with a proper chair, keyboard and PC, adjusted for your height. I expect many of you work in offices where it is the employer's legal duty to assess your workstation. Do the same at home. Use your phone for calling people, the odd short text or Whatapp, apps for identifying wildlife, night constellations and the like (and if you are sad checking out where the plane in the sky is going)and checking the web/e-mails/EDF. Occasionally you may need to use it to check in for a flight (remember that?), NHS app, find your way when lost (tip, check a hard copy or soft copy on a decent screen before you go out) and the like.

Never posted anything from my phone.

It may sound pompous but I think of it as pretty good advice.

    • So have you cancelled your contract with InPost / Yodel now? If so, that's probably caused hundreds of parcels to be stuck in limbo, as they've said to me before that they can't redirect them to a different store. I have a parcel that was refused by you twice, the last time on 5/12, and since then there's been no updates, despite me calling them 3 times. They just say it's being investigated, but if they now can't physically deliver to you then that is obviously the issue. So much for shopping for Christmas presents early, looks like I'll never get them now.
    • I thought I noticed the shop being redecorated the other day when I passed. Also the old Romeo Jones had some works going on, I think
    • Leon came to sort out a lighting issue for us last week.  He quickly diagnosed the problem and gave clear, detailed advice about how to avoid in future.  Would highly recommend him.

I love the fact that you, Dave CPR, are so unaware of how another can be affected by something that does not personally affect yourself. Blissful ignorance. Lack of Empathy. Cold hearted.
