It?s the same every weekend, probably because it?s en route from the Saturday market on north x road. I would report it to your councillor as it should be emptied after the market. James McAsh sorted out the bins on north x itself after I approached him, as they weren?t being emptied after the market and there was food waste everywhere for the rest of the weekend.
I agree if you can't get your rubbish in the bin, take it home! But this is not helped by the increasing number of dog bins (and other bins) that have been removed over the last year or so. The council have a tendency to REMOVE bins which end up overflowing, rather than empty them!
It also doesn?t help when they licence a street food market which is guaranteed to generate rubbish, and then not have enough waste facilities to deal with it. People are not going to take empty food cartons bought at a street market home with them. So all the surrounding bins get full.
Hi everyone - I 've been in touch with Southwark Council's street cleaning team and they should sort it out - poor them. I'll also look at who the councillor is for that area. I would never leave rubbish lying on the street like that and always take rubbish home with me if I can't find a bin. It's basic stuff. It really beats me.
Corner of Lytcott and Melbourne is currently an eyesore, the tree by the corner is a regular dumping ground for furniture, etc but at present is bags of food waste and all sorts of crap. Further down Lytcott opposite Alleyn?s is another.

    • The programme was brilliant and makes me wary now of sea paddling as so many areas affected. My daughter was working at a bank when privatisation of utility companies were floated. Bank advised its staff that only x number of shares could be purchased by individuals as Government rules at that time. She reported that certain people were seeking double and triple shares. Bank told her to ignore the guidelines as those customers had thousands of pounds in the bank. She was so disgusted at the banks attitude she handed in her notice, She decided that the financial world was too corrupt. Two degrees later - she now works in the NHS as an OT in mental health unit.

    • Petition Urge Israeli Government to stop law allowing execution of Palestinian prisoners The UK Government must act urgently to urge the Israeli Government to stop the proposed law which would permit the execution of Palestinian Prisoners, past, present and future. More details We believe that such a law would constitute complete violation of the Geneva Convention and International Human Rights Law. UN experts have called for these proposals to be dropped. We call on the UK Government apply considerable and substantial political pressure and the leverage of its international obligations to prevent the Israeli Government from passing this law.
