hello

would anyone out there have an old ballcock float. lurking in an old disused tank

just the float, I know this is not in the wanted section, but ideas are welcome.

I have a 1950s supply tank, and the rod has an 1/8th inch whitworth thread.

dont want to spend fortune on this house, hoping to sell for redevelopment

and too old for the agravation.

if any one has one hanging around and they want to sell

would be grateful thankyou

Pete my husband bought one jammed it on, the other morning woke up to water coming through ceiling,

float. floated off, so it breached the tank, over flow not man enough,

still drying out, bought new float and arm, fitted it by putting new arm on the split pin.

but my original is better, and stronger, and realistically would like to put back

the same, but no one seems to stock these old balls.

    • You can buy devices for fixed that spray water when a remote sensor is triggered.  Next door use successfully - we used to have but I was the one that mostly got wet and I now enjoy our foxes - agree we should protect our precious wildlife.
    • Fantastic news. We have a beautiful albino squirrel living in Crebor Street and I’m hoping that local cat owners could put bells ion their cat’s collars as Albus, yes I’ve named him, maybe be partially sighted or blind. He’s a very special wee fella and is loving life here and I hope as a community we can give him the best chance of survival and do all we can to keep him safe and well.    For Albus updates, you can check out my account on Instagram…@TravelswithTiaTina x
    • Will we notice any difference compared to now ? In the dim days before electricity light our street lights, the idea of two classes of mail meant that 1st class was delivered in the morning and 2nd class later in the day (yes two postal rounds per day)  But now, with modern technology and other "efficiency" changes we get one or less rounds a day and 2nd class is now within 3 days. Somehow I feel the death throes of a ine great postal service
