Excellent news for the club in difficult times:

"Dulwich Hamlet have announced that former England international Peter Crouch has joined their board as a director.

Crouch, 40, who played on loan at the Hamlet from Tottenham in 2000, ended his playing career with Burnley in 2019 after spells at a number of clubs including Southampton, Liverpool and Stoke.

He has since forged a successful career in the media."

It hasn't been laid out yet, but I suspect it involves an injection of cash, though of course DHFC are keen not to go back down the road of having a moneybags owner but are committed to an ownership model which gives a pivotal role to fans. I imagine Peter will be an excellent ambassador for the club as well as having very useful contacts within the game.

Very pleased to see him on board ? I'm a DHFC shareholder and season ticket holder, but by upbringing a Villa fan and enjoyed his time at Villa Park where I felt he hadn't been given a fair chance... he later went on to play for England, of course. Always comes across as an honest and intelligent critic of the game via his excellent 5 Live podcast:

Southwark News today on Crouch's involvement:

There will no doubt be much intrigue around Crouch. Dulwich Hamlet communications and media director Tom Cullen told the News: ?We had him as a player, but it?s a coup that we?ve managed to get him now considering how busy he is. We just can?t wait to see what he offers.

?A natural fit for him is obviously the football side of things, which is beneficial for both Ryan and Gavin to be able to have someone on the board who is a football person. Our football staff need support in that area and Peter can give that. A great amount of knowledge and support.

?We?re absolutely thrilled.?

Another club source told the News: ?He will be involved in every aspect of the running of DHFC, from advising transfer policy, helping out with the women?s team and even pouring pints at the bar! He will be heavily involved with both DHFC and DHFCW.?

    • Hi Busterb, Yesterday I turned up with a scanner & towels, hoping to take a deceased tabby down to TNV. The body was moved moments before arrival & had not been turned in to any vets, rescues or animal hospitals. I am wondering if this could have been the same cat & if someone just tried to move the tabby further away from the road. Please be warned, viewers discretion is advised. but this is what the deceased tabby looked like: https://www.facebook.com/groups/900015513463302/permalink/3729980853800073/  In any case, if you haven't been able to get someone to scan or take down to a vet, I can scan tomorrow morning.
    • Wholeheartedly recommend Aria. He was polite, responsive and sorted our leak, from an old tap on an old plumbing system, with no bother and on same day.
