Thai-vedic massage: Thai yoga and ayurvedic massage treatments in East Dulwich

Recommended Posts

Trained in Chiang Mai, Thailand and in London, I offer Thai yoga massage and Ayurvedic back massage treatments. My massage room is situated in a peaceful street between Lordship Lane and Peckham Rye Park within easy reach of several bus routes (P13, 63, 12, 197, 40 & 185).

Thai yoga massage

Often described as ?yoga that?s done to you?, Thai yoga massage uses a combination of deep tissue massage, gentle rocking and assisted yoga stretches leaving you feeling deeply relaxed. The massage is performed through loose clothing such as you would wear for yoga.

Ayurvedic back massage

Warm oil is liberally applied to your back. Using smooth, flowing strokes the oil is then massaged into your skin relieving aches and pains in your back, arms and shoulders.

I can highly recommend Stephen's Ayurvedic massage. I had my first massage with him a couple of weeks ago and it was so relaxing and restorative. Stephen has a lovely calm manner and a confident, assured but sensitive touch. His massage room is a peaceful sanctuary and the fragrance of the oils he used added to the relaxation. I felt like I was floating afterwards and had the best night's sleep I'd had for months that night (no exaggeration). I also think his prices are very reasonable.

Hi everyone, I just wanted to second the previous posting about Stephen's Thai massage. I also went for a treatment recently and was struck immediately by the beauty of the surroundings, which in itself has a calming effect on my stressed nerves. The massage itself really did have the effect a yoga or Pilates session would, so this is great for those of us who would rather be pampered than work hard! I also hugely appreciated the fact that the temperature was just right in the massage room, as too often I have suffered in slightly cold yoga and Pilates environments. And as Stephen also talked easily to me about what he could tell my body's weaknesses were, this dubled up as a body counselling session, something that I as someone keenly interested in my health much appreciate. I'll definitely go back, especially when I need an extra energy boost such as before a long plane journey.

Being a Yoga teacher, my body get the strain and the pain constantly ...Stephen listened carefully about my aches and pains and skillfully helped me to ease those tights and sensitive muscles, this knots in my shoulders, those harmstrings overloaded with energy were gently relaxed... even the mind followed this treatment and calmed itself down.

Stephen welcomed me in a calm room in his lovely flat. Scented oil were burning and calming music got in the mood of those brilliant 90 minutes... it was a lovely afternoon.. I highly recommended Stephen to all my Yoga colleaguesm friends and family..

Yes, thumbs up from me too. I have a chronic back condition and many other aches and pains and am rather sceptical about treatments that seem a bit 'new-agey' ? if I'm going to pay to see a therapist it needs to be about pain relief and restoring function, not a relaxing treat. I was unfamiliar with Thai yoga massage and a friend highly recommended Stephen so I thought I'd give it a go. I'd echo what previous posters said about Stephen's calm manner and the obvious care he's taken in creating comfortable surroundings for clients. As for the massage, he was great at really getting in and releasing my sore muscles, and the way he uses his feet and other techniques was pretty impressive. So afterwards, yes, I did feel better, so much so that when my back was particularly stiff and painful the other day I went to see him again for a quick treatment and left feeling better than I had for weeks. Obviously, it's no miracle cure for chronic conditions, but if you're looking for a massage therapist in the East Dulwich area I'd say give Stephen a go, his rates seem pretty reasonable to me for what he does.

I can highly recommend Stephen's Thai Massage. I've been very stressed with work recently and tense in my neck and shoulders and the calmness of Stephen's home and personality immediately made me feel relaxed and ready for my first experience of Thai massage. I loved the pressure and depth of the massage and the ease with which all the poses seemed to flow and hit the right spots - making my tension melt into the mat! Also loved the relaxing contemporary music he played - a nice change from the usual 'whale sounds and panpipes' that often play in the backgrounds of massage treatments! For the rest of the day and today my body and mind has felt freer and easier. I will definitely go back for more and look forward to trying the ayurvedic massage too.

Been searching for a Thai masseur, who could equal if not better the massages experienced in Thailand.

Stephen created a wonderful tranquil enviroment here in East Dulwich, and gave me a massage, as good if not better .....

His pleasant manner and wonderful background music, was up to date and brought all the qualities I wished to experience during the session. Would highly recommend him......

I'm a 72 year old sceptic who has had chronic shoulder pain for several years. I have had lots of physio sessions and regularly seen a Chiropractor. On my wife's recommendation I agreed to give Thai massage a try - she raves about it. I had a 1 hour and 30 minutes session on Friday at Thai-vedic massage and have had a great nights sleep every night since! I can honestly say that my shoulder pain has gone.I would really recommend Thai-vedic massage by Stephen to anyone. Michael Stuart.

Just back from an excellent massage with Stephen Nock. 50 something guy suffering from a bout of lower back pain resulting from too much circuit training a week earlier. Stephen got straight to it and really sorted my back out. With all these things having the right "bedside manner" is essential. Stephen is confident, professional and relaxed. He's got an half-price offer for first-timmers (I think) which, considering the effort and concentration he puts in, is a total bargain. I can highly recommend this really nice guy's massage. I have had two Thai Yoga and Auryvedic massages with Stephen now. I find the stretching massage techniques just what my ache ridden shoulders and back needed. I too had the best nights sleep for as long as I remember, certainly one of the best massages I have had for a very long time. I thoroughly recommend Stephen, and a friend has been since too.

I had the most amazing massage from Thai-Vedic massage in Crawthew Grove. (www.thai-vedicmassage.co.uk). I booked the appointment on the recommendation of a friend and I cannot recommend my masseuse, Stephen, more highly. For anyone interested in trying Thai or Indian Ayurvedic massage - in fact - anyone who wants to unwind completely/unknot/strengthen/lengthen an achey body this was the best massage experience I've ever encountered - and I've had many, from specialist holistic centres to spas to authentic Ayurvedic massages in India.

I had thai yoga massage at Thai-Vedic - it's described as yoga that's done to you rather than you doing it yourself with deep tissue massage and lengthening stretches, simply wonderful.

On one hand, I don't want to tell anyone about this treasure so that I can keep this gem all to myself (ahem, get an appointment whenever I like...) on the other hand...it is simply too good not to share.Having found this forum it doesn't surprise me that Stephen already has glowing reviews.

For any ladies, worried about having a massage from a male masseuse, I would say Stephen is very professional, kind and makes you feel completely at ease. Even if you have a regular masseuse I would give Stephen a try...

You are using a very old thread re Stephen's Thai-vedic massage treatments. There is a more recent one where he indicates his new premises and it also includes several glowing recommendations for Stephen. Just thought I would let you know. Old one or not all good for Stephen!
