El Pibe
It's all very dramatic, gone is the beautious glory that was Oriwu Spot, here are the diggers and now pile drivers.Anyone have the foggiest what is being built? Is there a clever page on the SOuthwark website that one can find this sort of thing out? StraferJack
Lest we forget the glory of Oriwu Spothttp://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?20,76368,88866#msg-88866 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/29310-building-site-wanley-rd-greendale/#findComment-618073 Share on other sites
El Pibe
A pity, I'm rather enjoying the unobstructed view of the ED valley in the morning as I take the litle ones to nursery. especially with this momrning's lifting fog.Incidentally as a result of this the nursery is turning the scrubland behind both it and this new building into a community garden, every saturday morning. Volunteers welcome. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/29310-building-site-wanley-rd-greendale/#findComment-618083 Share on other sites
edhistory
I talk with a lot of local people and most do not know that we have our own valley.Though, to be fair, we do share our valley with Nunhead.Peckham is immediately outside our valley.John K Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/29310-building-site-wanley-rd-greendale/#findComment-618096 Share on other sites
El Pibe
http://goo.gl/maps/Zv6Ezhmm, google maps a bit wide angle to appreciate it. It's better from the cycle path now oriwu spot has gone, although obviously the google car doesn't drive down there .... well nor does anything else at the moment given the rate of progress on the resurfacing (read zilch). You get a wonderful sense of it from my mate's flt in Herne Hill, which in fairness shares some of the valley too.
