I just had to write about something I did last week which has made me feel a million dollars! I'm a tired, forty-something women coming out of lockdown and feeling rubbish. A friend of mine suggested over drinks we should organise someone to come round and give us all some botox next time we have Book Club.... and that is exactly what we managed to do! There were six of us, numbed by alcohol and a lovely Spanish lady who is not only a GP but a specialist in dermatology set up shop in my bathroom and we took turns to have the jabs. Took less than 20 minutes each. None of the husbands are any the wiser but funnily enough each of them have remarked we were looking good! Its such a great idea and we've booked in again for just before Christmas. I told the lovely GP I'd recommend her as she's so good. PM me if you'd like her details, if you're like me and my bessies we understand that some things are a private affair!

    • I don't think this is only a left wing thing. The Tories kicked themselves out of government after splitting over Europe, and then decapitating 3 (or was it 4?) leaders. UKIP was effectively a split from the Tories to pick up the anti-European vote; it then split and Farage set up Reform - and then split from the people who he set it up with. And then Rupert Lowe set up Restore to pick up the Tory and Reform fringes that think those parties are too woke.
    • There has been some movement in the work on the playground but it appears to be to remove the bags of materials that had been placed near the works.
    • You're sounding a bit Reform there aren't you @malumbu Because this time four years ago he, and his party, were calling on voters to do the polar opposite. Actually, I would probably be quite fun on Question Time - you know those sanguine pragmatists who treat all politicians the same and aren't blinded by their own ideology and actually insist on proper answers - one of those pesky floating voters who actually nearly always determine the outcome of elections. @CPR Dave you pointedly show how far-left parties always kill themselves from within - because the rag-tag collection of various fringe groups always leads to one thing - infighting. We all know it won't end well for the Greens.
    • Mal. Yours is a very idealistic portrait of Margaret Thatcher. That’s not the case and I standby what I’ve written.
