My light blue vespa was stolen from outside my flat on Ondine Road on Friday night. If anyone see it can you please let me know? It might have been dumped in a park or back street as it only had a small amount of fuel in it. This is the second significant crime to have happened to us since living on Ondine Road, on December the 10th we were burgled too :(

Someone posted a couple of days ago saying they'd challenged a couple of teenagers who were making off with a Vespa I think it was on the same road.

If I remember right, the poster was weighed down with shopping bags do could not chase.

Search the board you'll see the post - if same bike then it'll be posts no older than Sat evening.

Here it is...

I have just had to call the police after catching two 12-13 yr olds (the boys were about 5ft max, white, slight build, and wearing hoodies) stealing a new Vespa on Ondine Road. I was weighed down with sainos bags but challenged them and they eventually ran off with the moped. If you live in the area, make sure you lock up/protect any bikes as best as you can.

I know for definite that the police and fire brigade were with a burning scooter on the Denmark Hill Estate at around 0200-0300hrs on Saturday morning. Don't think they could identify the bike because it was so badly burned but it definitely looked like a Vespa from the frame!

It was at the junction of Sunray Avenue and Denmark Hill on a small grassy area.

Hope it's not yours but just thought of let you know...................

    • As said, why are you not eating humble pie for a non-story? I expect that scores of landlords are unaware or made mistakes in this territory.  And this is not just the Chancellor but a married couple.  It feels like you and others are taking joy in demonising her. The only question would be is the house suitable for renting out?  I expect it is, and if not that is up to Southwark to take action rather than keyboard warriors.  The only surprises are the expense of licensing - surely time for a thread on "is licensing a money maker for local authorities?".  I'm being facetious.  And that the cost of rental, which feels fairly reasonable based on this area. By all means go after rogue landlords.  Be my guest.  I was horrified to see some of the properties rented in London and beyond by family members.  Not all bad. Oh and another question.  Haven't I got better things to do than comment on this 'no story here' thread?  😁
