TheCat - shouldn?t that be:

? I'll agree with the person that's called me a 'near' racist and a bastard, AND has also backed me up several times on various threads when the flow was against me - whereby I even private messaged him to thank him for his support.? ??

Perhaps you didn?t type the last bit because you weren?t sure of my gender and didn?t want to offend 🙄

It seems your post above is a little disingenuous with a touch of gaslighting, not unlike recent threads you?ve started?🤣

The ?poor, poor me? victim persona is fake news.

The BMA describing the Gov as ''wilfully negligent'' is damning, since restrictions were lifted I've found it strange that the Gov hasn't at least advised people to keep taking precautions such as wearing a mask in crowded places or indoor spaces outside your own home, even if it's not a legal requirement anymore. Why the reluctance? It's almost as if they are actively pursuing their initial strategy of herd immunity...

If we do end up in another winter lockdown, the people most aggressively against masks/social distancing/home working now will deny any culpability and will just point at people like Starmer/DR/me and say "you wanted us in lockdown earlier Captain hindsight" - completely missing the point

But it won't matter because the point will have been scored and the seals will all applaud

I always volunteer to wear a mask when in other people's homes. Recently was in a rather dubious HMO with about 22 people inside - families crammed together. No one but me wearing a mask. Madness. I notice that some people are very strict about adherence whilst others, some with three generations of family in situ, as well as the neighbours, their friends and kids' friends too, don't give a hoot. No masks. Some people actually insist I don't wear a mask!

    • 13.11.25 - Had an internal blockage in our kitchen, which I had tried to fix myself but to no avail. Found TD Plumbfix Solutions via the East Dulwich Forum and within an hour of making contact, Troy had sent one of his team to have a look. They were absolutely brilliant, from start to finish. Kept me informed of what they were doing, gave me a few tips on future do and don'ts, and finished the job in such a way that should make it easy for me to fix should the problem arise in the future.  Intend using again in near future for a couple of small jobs and would wholly recommend this firm to anyone.
    • Typically the way 'family run businesses' operate is either to have family members continue the business, or to sell on, either as a site (in this instance) or as a going concern. Either which way this is the way the owners create a 'pension' from the business. The number of suggestions as to alternatives makes me feel that the market for small repairing garages locally may be well served, so selling on the site makes the best financial sense for the owners. It's a sign not of the times but of normal business realities.
    • I agree it's a shame, but it is not a "sign of the times", unless you think that up to now people have never grown older and retired!
