Wanted: a cat who loves chasing mice (short term!)

My housemates and I have a mouse infestation in our house in North Dulwich. We love animals so don't want to harm them, so we're on the hunt for a cat who might want to come and stay with us for a few days!

We have experience looking after cats and will shower it with love. Please let me know if your cat might be up to the task :) thank you! Alternatively we would consider adopting a cat if that is an option.

Thanks,

Shelley

Oh Callie

Have you never watched the old cartoon "Tom and Jerry"

Obviously the cat will get into a whole heap of trouble chasing the mouse and getting outwitted by it including scrabbling in the air, upsetting spike or running into ironing boards.

This will result in much mirth and amusement for Shelley and housemate thus making them forget their rodent problem.

I mean it's not like Thomas Cat will actually catch Jerry Mouse or anything 😾🐁

Do not feel bad about killing Mice.

Mice are not nice.

A Cat will NOT rid your house of Mice if you have them.

There is seldom one mouse. Apart from Droppings which you can See, they are incontinent.

Mice dribble urine as they travel along. A single house mouse typically deposits several hundred tiny urine droplets in a 24 hour period.

They visit places where food is stored and Pee.

Mice caught using 'Humane' traps and released will return or infest someone else's home.

Do NOT use Poison.. They will disappear and die somewhere where you cannot find them.

They will Rot and Stink. they will get infested with Maggots. You will then be infested with Flies.

Big ones... Dozens of them.. Yuk

Set Wooden mouse traps. with Peanut Butter / Grated Chocolate as bait.

Whereas a cat ripping them apart after painfully 'playing' with it's catch is not a kind option!

    • Sue. You really don’t have to keep saying about the electoral system    a) we all know about it b) it doesn’t matter    FPTP is the system we have always had and hopefully we will get rid of it someday but it is what it is    when anyone suggests changing the system Corbyn is right there at the front of the queue to prevent it   so its pointless him or any of supporters complaining about it    the evidence you want is the result of the elections. You can’t have clearer evidence.
    • Has anyone from the school commented? Have they said why? Is it a fresh start? Is it that Grove in the name may have connotations of wealth and they want to attract more applicants from a wider area? Is that it currently is linked to the DKH Estate?
    • As you quite rightly say a sample of 500 is extremely  small. (actually unrepresentative in the scheme of things) Now corbyn has his own party or should that be Party, it'll be interesting to see if it is merely a "think tank" or if it contests seats and then if they win any and if they chase currently held seats by Labour. It'll be even more amusing if it unseats current Labour Ministers though.
