I am sure some of you young foodies can help, where can I get " real chips " in East Dulwich.I am sure you could get them once in Blue brick cafe, but no more.Just to clarify real, cut from a potatoe, not reshaped stuff or oven baked, not a stack of 4 chips hard and so precise in shape that no pleasure is present in the preparing or eating of them.Golden in colour, crisp but not hard, sometimes with crispy edges, drool, drool.

Did KFC have the spicy fries over here?

In NZ they had these for a few years - came with a sachet of spicy god-knows-what you sprinkled over them. Actually, maybe they were called shaker fries.

Anyway, very tasty.

It also depends on what you cook them in if a chip turns out well.

There is different oils used in various shops like nut oil, corn oil, mixed veg oil, fish oil,and in some shops they are

tipping their kebab and chicken oil in the mix.

All in all their chips are just as suss as the horsemest scandal, anything to make a profit. It would be better if people learnt how to cook their own.

    • It didn't occur to me to ask. No idea if dieticians are employed within the NHS. It is just one line of enquiry among others. The GP mentioned it, not me.
    • I thought the most they sell in terms of hot food at londis is like pastries and sausage rolls and for hot drinks its like costa coffee but its always a convenience store. Doesn’t look too bad in my opinion considering that shop has been closed down ever since i moved here
