Car Garage Recommendation please

I would recommend Reg and Paul Shires at Dulwich Test, now in the Tyrrell Road industrial site. They have looked after my family's cars for the last 30 years and counting. Very fair and honest. And expert. https://good-garage-guide.honestjohn.co.uk/garages/d/dulwich-test-service-centre/

Not in mine either! That said, I do think they know what they're talking about.

This is calling for recommendations of where to go, not who to avoid,

Statements such as " Avoid Turners. Rip off merchants!!" could be viewed as defamation. And for balance they score pretty well on Google reviews: https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-d&q=Turners+garage+dulwich#lrd=0x487603bc2f92f879:0xc4bb1c94501de287,1,,,

Me - went to Pitstop in Upland Road and was happy http://www.pitstoprepairs.com/ Google reviews decent

For decades I went to Oly Autos in Loughborough Junction and have no problems with continuing except that Pitstop in more local. https://olyautos.co.uk/ Got to know Oly and his son pretty well, and went next door to Gordon Grove Garage for my MOT's, sadly the gent Peter who did these for decades passed a couple of years ago,

Exactly what Penguin68 said. Including 30 years of looking after my family cars and always fair, honest expert. Also the cleanest and tidiest garage ever.

    • I think part of the problem may be that if you are a cyclist and  can see cars and pedestrians after dark, e.g. lit by streetlights and headlights, you don't realise that they can't see you when your bike has no lights and you are dressed in dark non reflective clothing. The other part of the problem may be that you just don't care, of course. ETA: Do Lime bikes not have lights?
    • It was normal cyclists, in rush hour traffic, in the dark, in the rain. Just really want people to realise it’s that time of year even more careful and to get kitted out.
    • The other consideration is that users of Lime bikes and similar, plus younger pedal cyclists, probably don't view themselves as 'cyclists' as such and so don't get kitted out or even consider that they need to. I also agree that earlier nights are another factor for the casual or hire bike user more used to cycling in the summer. I don't think I have ever seen a hire bike or scooter user wearing a helmet or reflective gear- presumably that is because the bike is just viewed as a transport tool for short term use and users do not want to be encumbered by any of the safety gear? Before anyone jumps on me for anecdotal evidence and speculation, this is just what I have seen round here, there may be hordes of similar users elsewhere that are kitted out.
