From a previous apprenticeship with folkie girlfriend, it boils down to real ale, clogs, ornamental swords, bad-mouthing, sniping, infidelity and more clogs. And beards.

I think sue is the expert, her first folk music show was sold out two weeks before the big night.

I've never understood it either, I went to a folk festival thing once, and half the acts were your normal singer/songwriter types, and the headliners were basically a rock band.

Talking of which, goose folk club did it again last night. John kirkpatrick was brilliant, a real master,never seen him before. They had a very cool balkan type choir, also cornrigs, who were great too. Few guitar/sing songers.sold out, really fun night. Bet you start seeing more 'greats' performing round here as the word gets round that the club is good.
