Appeal for Information.

On 9th December Facebook notified me that me account was being suspended for 30 days.

It was all about the way I described two items I had listed via ?marketplace.?

I accepted the suspension and did not seek a ?review.

On 10th Jan to my dismay I was notified that my account had been TERMINATED.

?You can't use Facebook because your account, or activity on it, didn't follow our Community Standards.

We can't review this decision because too much time has passed since your account was disabled.?

Using fb was a very effective way to communicate local community events that I organised or was involved with.

FB has also in part been an important part of my recovery from a very dark 15 month period of my life.

I had over 4800 friends and 770 followers.

Searching the web I did find an email address: [email protected]

This bounced back.

So that I can make an appeal for my account to be re-activated, I am seeking:

1) Credible contact details for facebook email or telephone numbers ( I understand if you call the USA numbers you only get recorded information.

2) If you know anyone that works for facebook please send me a private message with contact details.

I am holding things together however this situation is inevitably having consequences for my general state of well being.

Much appreciated if you can also share this appeal with anyone that might be able to help with 1) or 2)

Michael Peacock, Nunhead London.

Some of the items you listed for sale on here were not appropriate for a local community forum, and were removed by admin, if memory serves.

Is it possible that the items you listed on Facebook's marketplace were considered similarly inappropriate?

I don't know anything about how Facebook works, but could it be that your account was terminated for similar reasons?

It may be too late now to recover that account, but maybe you could sign up to Facebook using a new account? (and every time you post on there, ask yourself "is this acceptable?")

I am sorry you have been going through a hard time, and I hope things improve for you soon.

Dear John

For a moment I thought there was hope when I checked out wikihow:

https://www.wikihow.com/Recover-a-Disabled-Facebook-Account

Unfortunately I am not presented with photo 1 BUT get photo 2 which does not seem to offer any appeal options.

But thank you for trying to help.

Dear Sue

FACT: Yes a number of items I had previously listed here were removed - WITHOUT any explanation.

FACT: I sent a private message to Admin seeking an explanation and received to reply.

All my items listed for sale have been removed without explanation

31/12/21

Dear Admin

I note without any explanation all my items listed for sale have been removed.

Please clarify why my items were removed and also if there were genuine issues what steps I can take to avoid items being removed in the future.

Since early November I have made five sales here and wish to continue selling here.

Best regards

Michael Peacock

FACT: In frustration I then made the above private msge into a post via selling section with this description:

FOR SALE: EDF Admin Please clarify why my items were removed

This was in the hope that I would get a reply - ADMIN then deleted the post.

FACT: I had listed a number of BRAND NEW men's underwear items and some coffee table books of male models.

Do enlighten me as to how they could be deemed 'inappropriate'?

This advice is not helpful

'but maybe you could sign up to Facebook using a new account?'

I leave it with you.

Might be helpful to read the top post in the for sale section:

Rules for posting in this part of the forum

It's got stuff about using capital letters and selling multiple items etc that might be helpful in formulating your for sale posting.

Why have you started a duplicate thread in this section?

And do I really have to spell out to you why some of your items for sale were inappropriate? A particular picture on what if I recall correctly was a vest or tee shirt, for example?

I do not feel I want to describe it, but if anybody else saw it before it was removed they will know what I mean.

It wasn't exactly something you could wear in a public place, put it like that ....

Dear Sue

There is NO duplication - so it took a post seeking RELEVANT advice about how I might be able to appeal to facebook to get my account re-activated for FINALLY after being completely ignored by admin here as to why my listings were removed.

'It wasn't exactly something you could wear in a public place, put it like that ....'

Please refer me to the selling guidelines here that PROHIBIT the selling of BRAND NEW men's underwear.

Also for your information I am not unique on occasion in the summer to wear men's colourful underwear as outerwear.

I leave it with you.

Just create a new account with a fake name.

Job done.

Like the millions of children under 13 that have done the very same. (You are supposed to be over 13)

That?s how responsible, fit & proper Facebook are to weigh in judgment on you by deleting your entire account.

Aren?t Facebook the worst example of cynical abusive capitalism???

you could try this

https://smallbusiness.chron.com/solve-problem-disabled-facebook-account-26707.html

scroll down, there's a section for accounts disabled by facebook

Just apologise and say you are now fully aware of their behaviours and content policy and made an error of judgement and that you need the social connection from your friends and followers to help with your mental health and can they please reactivate your account and give you another chance.

    • We worked with Eliot recently to get two sets of shelves built. He was excellent! Really high quality craftsmanship, communicative and lovely - I’d recommend Langley Carpentry in a heartbeat.
    • How about trying the upstairs of some local pubs like EDT? They prob won't stay open until wee small hours but worth a try... or night at Rivoli Ballroom Catford (too old?!) or somewhere up in town for drinks rather than hiring somewhere.
    • Sadly crime does seem to be going up in terms of opportunists and street crime / bike thefts etc. Lack of CCTV in this area means it's more of a target than some neighbouring areas according to police (when they sent victim support round after our car had its catalytic converter stolen twice in 6 months by organised gang complete with balaclavas, iron bars and a chainsaw.. driving a 4x4). Crime still relatively low by some parts of London standards but a worrying trend if burglars are trying their luck when people are actually home. Wonder what local police/ MP thoughts are in terms of whether they could organise more community policing patrols. I read a woman was punched in the face on/near Lordship Lane in an unprovoked attack a week or two ago. Terrifying.
    • We had shutters and roller blind supplied and fitted by Affordable Shutters when we first moved into our house in 2012 and highly recommend them. One of the poles and a couple of shutter staples recently came loose and they scheduled in a visit when they were in the area at no charge. Lovely customer service, great quality, honestly cannot fault their service (shutters are made to measure so you have to wait but they're worth waiting for). https://affordableshutters.co.uk/
