Just to clarify, I am more concerned about the false reason given on its notices posted up in the windows. These were plainly false. Took pictures of these fake signs. The problem therein:- + if the landlord thinks it?s ok to write brazen barefaced lies to customers & public it is more likely he WAS also discriminating against the traveller community + the landlord needs to be a ?fit & proper? person to be granted a licence by Southwark council licensing committee in conjunction with the police etc - but writes brazen lies on posters displayed to public? + if lies / deception considered ok, what are customers maybe being told/informed about their drinks &/or food? As explained residents next door saw no gas van, tradesman, or any van or were not issued with any safety warning (suspected gas leaks lead to whole street evacuations)ON THAT THURSDAY EVENING OR FRIDAY MORNING up until these ?scary? signs were taken down. It?s possible I?m wrong & this nevertheless was the truth? but would be trillion trillion trillion to one coincidence wouldn?t it? (My own opinion - blah blah blah - personal view - not the view of the EDF - without prejudice - disclaimer) 😉

Legally speaking a pub is private property so they have a unaliable right over who is allowed on their premises. Rightly or wrongly that might be in the current culture. The point being why tell unnecessary lies about a ?Gas Leak?? Shows contempt for the public, lack of decency & almost a glee in what they are doing doesn?t it Wonder if I will go in there again with management like this 😔

Unfortunately in ?capitalist-anything-goes Britain? companies have free reign - & often engage in - predatory practices. Which they are under the law perfectly entitled to do. These include temporary undercutting / loss pricing to specifically close smaller independents without huge finance behind them or market capture that is opening a loss making branch to prevent competitors getting a foothold. So what could happen is that ?more? for ED locals, in the long run, means ?less?. Would be nice to think net result of new Prets would ?add to the flourishing eclectic range of shops, caf?s, pubs & restaurants? though? even if I am somewhat doubtful set against prior experience 🧐

Well after much consideration my own personal opinion is that the ?Gas Leak? single day temporary closure, on the evidence, WAS a lie. That is most likely because of plain & simple discrimination against the Traveller Community. If I can be shown evidence from a gas engineer/ fire brigade to the contrary, I?ll happily change my opinion. That being said a business telling lies to the public? looks like the new manager isn?t much better. ?Gas leak? sounds a bit of a fake excuse. Why not just say ?Temporary Closure. Apologies?? Why the disrespectful silly lies? Makes you wonder what else they?re up to, hey? what goes on out of sight, before your drink &/or food gets brought out. 😱😱😱 eek!

False closure theory Well my friend who lives opposite cherry tree told me NO British Gas vehicle or trade vehicle or emergency vehicle turned up there Thursday or Friday morning whatsoever. His window FACES the pub. Reopened Friday as normal. Curious & curiouser. Prices Of course breweries are facing huge cost pressures but this applies to all pubs & bars. As of today Saturday the Cherry Tree is completely empty - Sat 1740hrs - whereas at the exact same time the EDT is overflowing with drinkers filling all outside seating. They don?t charge anywhere near as much so make your own conclusions.

Prets is actually owned by MacDonalds Corporation isn?t it? Hope they will offer Toilets, WIFI, USB phone/tablet Charging & Air Con!!! We just have to accept soulless chain stores don?t we? Bulk centralised purchasing, massive mass marketing & huge financial power suffocating out all competition in every locality. Welcome to Boris Britain. Hi EDF-ers!!! Sad to report that the daily newspapers are already going wrong again? after just only 3 or 4 weeks. Last Monday there were NO newspapers at all at 1400. No explanation, no apology, no information. Today - inexplicably - no Daily Mirror. No explanation, no apology, no concern by staff. Just ?it wasn?t in the delivery?. Two failures in one week? Maybe chase up the supplier? Maybe that?s way over dramatic! Wonder if Southwark council - that is you & me - the taxpayers are still being billed for literally, well, nothing? Send your answers in on a postcard, don?t even waste EDF server data storage!!! Maybe local government Southwark are trying to match the Boris government at national level. Dysfunctional, unaccountable, ineffective, inconsistent & unable to achieve even the simplest thing. (Disclaimer: Last sentence is a ?Personal opinion?).

inanr- Used to work for TfL in the project office for the Tottenham Court Road station upgrade project in Centrepoint (the 13th floor) There were 3 or 4 undertasked day rate consultants on gigantic day rates updating their Facebook accounts. The project boss was a? day rate consultant. Watching them one day I realised at that moment why fares for Londoners are highest for any city in the entire world. Back to BUS STOP INDICATOR boards. Inexplicably the website bus countdown data & apps DO SOMETIMES DIFFER. The dot matrix boards seem to get data differently. Buses which don?t appear on apps do in fact show up on indicator boards. This I observed just yesterday. But no explanation, no information or no accountability to paying customers for whom TfL Buses hold in total contempt.

Legally they DO have the right. Morally is a different matter. Bit of a waste of the EDF this discussion tho? if this is worst someone encounters in a South London park in 2022, then it?s passed me by that we have achieved utopia. 🤪 Maybe I?ve missed something about this post!

Sometimes the indicator boards disappear then reappear Often when new bus stop put in Inexplicable why everything is put in at once. No explanation to the passengers. Just like the rest of the things TFL - bloated, corrupt, faceless bureaucracy - does. The other thing it?s likes to do is remove the stops altogether without notice or consultation. The amount of your money it bar slides to day rate consultants who sit about on social media most of the day, would make your blood boil. (Unless you are self employed contractor invoicing TfL 😜). You then understand why it is you pay highest fares in the world for the worst service.
