Covid Vaccination no 1 or 2 for a 12-15 year old?

If your 12-15 year old child has had a first vaccine over 12 weeks ago (and is therefore due a second) or hasn't had a jab yet, there are walk-in clinics at the Tessa Jowell Centre on East Dulwich Grove (37 bus goes there). They are 9am-2pm on Sundays and 9am-6pm on Thursdays. Your child should not have a vaccine if they have had Covid in the last 12 weeks. A parent/guardian needs to attend with the child. There was no queue there yesterday after school hours. Older Teens and adults can also have vaccinations there. It is also possible to book via the NHS website, but the Tessa Jowell centre doesn't show up as an option on there.

TJHC is a GP-led centre rather than one of the clinics set up by NHS central. A little more here: https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?32,2241143,2247457#msg-2247457.

Cora - why not complain to the centre itself, and why not check with them ahead of time to see whether your required services are offered? You only live a short way away, you say, so you could easily pop in. (The NHS is a great service but it can't provide a bespoke service or let us all know its options at all times.) I have had great service there but with any big, impersonal organisation I don't take it as read that things will go smoothly unless I do a bit of homework first.

    • Remember, you never know what someone else is going through behind closed doors....
    • Is anyone else having difficulty booking Silver Swim sessions (Tuesday and Thursday between 3pm-4pm?) Almost all the spaces are taken before the online booking system opens at 10pm several days before. Last night there appeared to be one space available for next Tuesday. I tried to book at one second past 10pm but was unsuccessful. This seems to have been a recent phenomenon. I made a telephone call this morning but just received a recorded message saying that the voicemail box was full. Am I right in assuming that in person bookings are now taking precedence over online ones?
    • I completely agree with you, Angelina. But it's worth noting that no one else has a problem with her, or finds her rude /  has mentioned her aggressively banging gates / ringing doorbells etc.
    • But I don't think that was what you meant, was it? But he can hardly be held responsible for what somebody else did! Just discovered I forgot to post the above  last night, and now it's overtaken by long posts.  I don't have sufficient knowledge  to counter some of what has been said above, some of which appears to be opinion rather than facts, so it would be pointless for me to say anything else.
