Help! Landrold keep deposit money for 2 years

Recommended Posts

Hi Izabella,

We have the same situation. Deposit should be protected in 2 weeks since you moved in.

First step is to negotiate (disagree) via deposit protecting site, next step court.

You need the confirmation from where the deposit was protected with the dates.

You can call there or send an requesting email giving your name, tenancy address and deposit ID.

Is it in a deposit protection scheme now? If so contact them now and let the know the whole story, if no damage then you are entitled to the money within 10 days of leaving, and possibly the Landlord is in trouble if the money wasn't in the scheme earlier.

Need to contact the scheme the money is held with first, they should be able to sort it out pretty quickly.

If for whatever reason they don't comply (and the fact that he didn't deposit the money for 26 months means he's liable for something like 1.5 times the deposit in compensation is likely to make him cave in immediately), then the small claims.

Way Deduction from deposit ? i m not sure , still waiting for his respond ( negotiation with dps) but he will try for lost of earnings

Long story short : renew contract for another year and after couple of months he decide to put on a market for sell , viewings nearly every day sometimes 3xday for about 2 months (with 2 babies and a preschooler it was very inconvenient ) Any way after incident when agent did not respect my directions not to enter the room where baby was sleeping I stop the viewing (not to mentions that hi didn't want to leave property , treating me with some crap ), i stop hoping they will set some rules etc. but didn't come to me for negotiations , he was still doing his privet viewings ...

He don't know what his doing ,now property is up for rent?!!!!

    • I had a leaky toilet cistern and Niko came out the same day and not only fixed the leak but thoroughly cleaned off the years of calcium build-up. His attention to detail was matched by his kind humanity. The result was a completely renovated toilet which has never worked more efficiently as well as 'service with a smile'. MANY THANKS NIKO!!!

They still didn't vote for him. He lost two elections.
