Friends are over from the States in a few weeks and they would love to sample a proper English fry up for breakfast. What?s the best greasy spoon in east Dulwich / Dulwich village / forest hill? Would be mid morning on a Monday

For quality avoid a greasy spoon !

Perhaps try a restaurant. Franklin?s does better than all the local greasies in my experience, and the constituent parts are far better quality.

Crossroads Cafe on Bellenden Road. Always full of builders.

Yes Crossroads cafe is a good one but so is The Dulwich Cafe on Lordship Lane next to the big St Christopher's hospice charity shop.

Johnnies (greasy spoon style) or Luca?s on North Cross Road (a v good full English)

If you're happen to broaden your radius try the Electric Cafe in Tulse Hill or Regency in Victoria. Or if those are too far the Crossroads on Bellenden.

My son brought some friends who were over from New York to crossroads on Bellenden for a full English breakfast and they said it was very good. He also recommends Steve?s cafe in Herne Hill.
