SIXTEEN RECOMMENDS: Recommended Groundworks and services new

Posted by hmcgregor 02 November, 2020 18:04

A recommendation for Carl Fuller Brown who fixed my fence today. Efficient, reliable and pleasant. He is coming back to help repair a broken wooden structure supporting garden Wisteria. He also does other maintenance work inside and out eg decorating. His mobile is 07841124010

Carl did a comprehensive makeover to our garden together with his assistant Jay; from removal and disposal of the old infrastructure, to tiling, fencing and laying new turf. I highly recommend his services whether for small or large jobs. He was kind, honest, hard working and the project was priced very fairly with no hidden costs propping up along the way. Hi All,

I was looking out the window yesterday and saw a good few fences have fallen. So I thought i would share a recommendation for the company that replaced my fence a couple of years ago. They did a fantastic job on a sloping boundary and was all done in 2 days. Needless to say my fence stood strong in yesterdays winds.

Below is a link to their trust a trader. Tony Preston the the guy, Garden Fencing London based in Welling:

Brilliant Garden/Gardener/Landscaping, Fencing Recommendation for Exterior Design Gardens new

Posted by Julinka Yesterday, 07:15PM

A big thank you and heartfelt recommendation for Exterior Design Gardens [email protected] who have just finished our garden.

Nigel, Oli and Aaron did a fantastic job on a complete revamp of our garden including installing new fencing, laying a paved terrace area, building a beautiful pergola and gymnastics bar, revamping an old brick wall and existing decking, completely prepping the area for planting, building a veg bed and planting up the entire garden.

We had a design and scope of works already but Oli and Nigel offered a lot of great advice with the landscaping and in particular the re-design of the path, sourcing materials and plants. When it came to the planting Nigel suggested we both go to their nursery to look at plants and plan the garden. I had a brilliant and inspiring day choosing plants and trees for the garden and learning all about them from Nigel who offered great advice and support throughout. Nigel also supervised all the planting and planned the layout to superb effect.

It was joyful watching our garden come to life over the two weeks they were here.

Nigel and his team were extremely professional, experienced, patient, polite and very careful to tidy up after themselves everyday. It was a joy to have them work on our garden and we couldn't be happier with the results.

Highly recommended and very reasonably priced.

    • Sadly I think you will never convince people like this. They think gardens have to be kept chopped back and controlled. My theory is that this comes from being (or trying to be) controlling in every aspect of their lives, so I doubt if anything you could say or show them would have any effect. But are they actually coming into your garden or leaning over into it and pulling up/damaging things? If so, maybe one of our community police people could have a word with them?
    • Dear Nature lovers - advice please. I am being harassed by a neighbour who doesn't like my standard of gardening which she calls 'messy'. (I have rewilded my garden with advice from the London Wildlife Trust and a gardening expert from The Times.) I have twice caught this neighbour and her husband pulling up my plants and damaging my trees. Plus she has photographed my house, and sent a dozen complaints to the Dulwich Estate about my plan to rewild the verge outside my property - approved by the Estate some 4 years ago in line with their stated policy of supporting biodiversity in and around Dulwich. What can I do to introduce these neighbours  to the benefits to us all of returning a portion of our gardens to nature?
    • Have you tried Southwark's leisure centres? As a regular attendee at Peckham, Camberwell, The Castle and speaking to friends, the dance routines for all ages are similar to Silver ones. In addition Natty, Bianca and Isac are brilliant instructors.
    • I've been there for lunch a few times and the home cooked asian food (as part of Sweat Dreams cafe) is genuinely great and a must try. I think the food side of the business has been slow to be noticed but people are now realising what is actually hidden in plain sight.  As for the Aroma Lab coffee ... it is excellent, they are very welcoming and friendly (and unpretentious!). This Australian coffee snob is mightily impressed!!
