Feb 26th Ride details

London Bridge to Design Museum (Holland Park).

10am to 13.30pm. Jamie leading. Ride will start at Southwark Needle at 10am taking in Hyde Park, Holland Park, Speakers Corner, The Mall, Horse Guards Parade, Parliament Square and back to Southwark Needle by 1.30pm. Those that want can have 20 mins in the Design Museum during our coffee break there. Pretty much flat route with usual format of paths and quiet streets as much as possible and a very civilised pace.

Dulwich to Morden Hall

Start 10am, Dulwich Clock Caf?, Dulwich Park, SE21 7BQ. Back at Dulwich Park for 1.30pm. Outward route via Brockwell Park, Clapham Common and Wandsworth Common to Earlsfield (mostly LCN25). Join the Wandle Trail and follow this largely off-road route to Morden Hall Park. This is National Trust, but the grounds and, importantly, the Tea Room or open to the public. Coffee break there. Return route follows Wandle trail back to Colliers Wood, then takes the more direct Cycleway 7 along the A24. Not so scenic, but cycle lanes and other protection have been improved in recent years. At Clapham Common rejoin the outward route (LCN25) back to Dulwich Park via Herne Hill. About 18 miles, some hills, nothing severe. Jean and John leading. Route at https://www.strava.com/activities/5690167719.

    • Useful link, thanks. I see that neither of the Dulwich Hill councillors are standing again but one of the new Labour candidates for DH recently left the Lib Dems… The Greens are led by someone who left the Lib Dems and full of people who left Labour. Reform is full of those who left the Tories. And the Tories are full of those who left our planet some time ago. Confused? You will be!
    • I'm sorry to learn that though Liam does seems well qualified. Hopefully with McAsh gone, Southwark Labour will turn to Charlie to fill the gap.
    • As I understand it Charlie Smith did put himself forward for selection in GG but Labour members chose someone else to represent them, Liam McGrath https://southwarklabour.com/our-candidates/   It'll be interesting to see if there are other defections - surely the Greens want a drip, drip, drip of news from now to May suggesting the momentum is with them.
    • Thanks for your feedback - we always appreciate hearing from members about their experience. The pool temperature at JAGS Sports Club is maintained at 29oC, in line with industry guidelines for mixed-use pools.  This temperature has been designed to balance comfort for lane swimmers and families. Air temperature is also monitored regularly to ensure a comfortable environment for swimmers, spectators and staff. The shower Temperature Mixing Valves (TMVs) were changed in December to improve consistency, and we hope this has made a noticeable difference. If you would like to discuss your experience in more detail, please contact us directly at [email protected] or 020 8613 6500 and we'll be really happy to help.
