RosieH
Somebody was just whistling, and the tune sounded like one from the Ocarina of Time songbook. And I felt a sadness in my heart, like I had just come across a long-forgotten photo of a lost love that made me weep.I think I need professional help.Or a support group. El Pibe
It's perfectly normal, for weirdoes!!!!I just need to hear a refrain from a cello and I'll get quite nostalgic the days when I explored roman, egyptian and mayan ruins. A lute will have me reliving the first time I set foot in the Prancing Pony. It's clearly not healthy!See also technological synaesthesia Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/30514-is-there-such-a-thing-as-a-zelda-survivors-club/#findComment-628421 Share on other sites
RosieH
Yes yes yes. Exactement! But why should it make me feel so sad? Now, tell me of this Prancing Pony. Is this some kind of LOTR game? A lute wouldn't seem quite apposite for the burly blokes of Bree. Otta
I get that kind of sadness when I come to the end of a series of sci-fi fantasy books. When I was a teenager I read the chronicles of prydain http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Chronicles_of_Prydain and remember feeling very meloncholy at the end. I guess you escape in to this worlds and characters in a way that you don't when things are set in our own world (boring). There was also something very special about Ocarina of Time that hasn't been captured by a Zelda game since (possibly equalled, but not improved upon). El Pibe
I do find that ocarina has aged much worse than link to the past, some vague causal link with the uncanny valley I suppose. Otta
But that could be because it was so ahead of anything else at that time, that it was pushing what the N64 could do. Link to the past was / is a nice top down game that fits well with current hand held devices, which has given it a new lease of life I reckon. El Pibe
Ooh, wrong place but you might like the look of this ottahttp://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=tenpLSKU-9UThey're doing a 'proper' version of slender man.---And yes Rosie, it was LoTRO (Lord of The Rings Online), basically a middle earth version of World of Warcraft....without the players. Some of the early game stages in Bree Land and The Shire were rather lovely to wander around. You could buy a lute and play it with the keyboard, shift for a sharp, ctrl for a flat.I think I managed match of the day Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/30514-is-there-such-a-thing-as-a-zelda-survivors-club/#findComment-628471 Share on other sites

RosieH
I should clarify that I've never actually played D&D - closest I came was that cartoon on the telly...But I do love a good wizard.
