sillywoman
There's a shuttle bus that goes from just outside Guys. It takes about 10 minutes & I think it may even be free (might want to check that - maybe only free to staff/ students)? It's walkable in about 20 minutes, quite a nice walk too along the river front, but given the bitter weather maybe not? Mrs TP
My Mum-in-Law accompanied by my sister-in-law used this staff shuttle bus between the two without probs to attend out-patient appts. I would guess they give staff priority and top up with patients. intexasatthe moment
Thanks .I don't think I'd feel comfortable using the staff bus ... Mrs TP
Contact the hosp PALS - patient advice helpline thing and am sure they will tell you ok. If there is room on the bus, which I understand is normal then cheaper for the nhs to have you arrive on time :) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/30565-travel-between-guys-and-st-thomas/#findComment-628925 Share on other sites
sillywoman
It's definitely not just used by staff so you wouldn't be unusual or alone if you want to use it, but if it makes you feel funny then you could get a normal bus from Borough high street (3 mins walk from Guys) - I just can't remember what number. Or there's the river walk :D Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/30565-travel-between-guys-and-st-thomas/#findComment-628965 Share on other sites
kristymac1
Its definitely not just used for staff, I think they just refer to it as 'the staff bus', I've used it and it was difficult to tell who was staff and who were patients. You may have to wait up to 20minutes for it though.... intexasatthe moment
Thank you every one . The timing is very tight between appointments so I'm going to catch train from LB to East Waterloo as per suggestion in Lounge .And then my second appointment will undoubtably be delayed ... jollybaby
I'll check this out next week. As far as I'm aware it is a staff shuttle bus though you do often see members of the public on the bus. I often have to do a mad dash between clinics on different sites. It can be very frustrating when you can't get on and have to wait another 10 mins before the next, or the one after that. As for public transport options - there is the overland between London Bridge and Warerloo East or the jubilee between London Bridge and Westminster.
