Bob Buzzard
I?ve been doing some helpful comparisons this week and have noted the Red Leicester from Mons is redder than the one sold at The Cheese Block. Spartacus
But do they taste the same Bob, or does colour influence your taste buds ? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/309153-mons-vs-cheese-block/#findComment-1581082 Share on other sites
Bob Buzzard
One is definitely more piquant than the other. The next comparison I?ll do on Saturday is 24-month aged Parmesan (Cheese Block) vs. 36-month aged Parmesan (Mons). Waseley
Sadly beyond my budget. Will you be buying samples Bob for us to try? Otherwise it is the free samples outside the Village Cheese Shop for me Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/309153-mons-vs-cheese-block/#findComment-1581087 Share on other sites
jazzer
In addition to your taste test, perhaps you can say what the price/Kg is as well. Red Leicester from Mons 24-month aged Parmesan (Cheese Block) vs. 36-month aged Parmesan (Mons). DulwichFox
I don't like cheese much... I sometimes buy a small piece of Stilton .. but it usually sits at the back of my fridge and gets binned when it's gone past it's Use-by Date. I don't buy it from Mons or the Cheese Block. Last time a Queued to buy food was in the 50's. with by mum after the War.. Spartacus
I'm confused Comparing a 24 month and 36 month Parmesan is like comparing apples with pears. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/309153-mons-vs-cheese-block/#findComment-1581109 Share on other sites
KidKruger
I don't think the point was ever about comparisons of wildly different cheeses ! Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/309153-mons-vs-cheese-block/#findComment-1581122 Share on other sites
Spartacus
Oh, it's not another of Bob's spoof posts is it..... BrandNewGuy
I thought it was mostly Swiss cheeses around at Bob's house? A builder friend of mine was round there a while ago and said he throughly enjoyed dipping into Mrs Bob's fondue... Spartacus
I sometimes wonder if Bob and Foxy are both parody accounts with Bob being obvious and Foxy mostly believable 🤣 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/309153-mons-vs-cheese-block/#findComment-1581190 Share on other sites
TheCat
We're so lucky to live in an area of the UK with the highest density of cheesemongers per square mile. Waseley
Interestingly I also bought cheese just after the war Foxy. But who's side were you on, Liam or Damon? It was carnage and I recall there were many family breakups. And worse the annoying cheese man, good friends with the architect of Brexit, Dave C.Borough Market at the weekend is rather vomit inducing so a great place to buy parmesan and Hershey bars. Spartacus
Wasely, are you trying to knock Foxy of his much fought for "strange random response" pedestal?
