Two men just came to my front door and offered to clear some things from my front garden there from a recent clear-out. I agreed for a ?5 charge, but when i said i had no change of a twenty one of the men practically grabbed it out of my hand and said he would change it at the shops. I protested and said no but couldn't go myself as my kids were at home.

In the split second moment i had to make the decision i thought, I must trust them, its a sad world if I say no...they are just trying to make a living...he said his mate would stay with me while he went, but he dashed off as soon as the garden was cleared.

Anyway - they never came back, my rubbish is littered down the nearby roads and most is in a skip on Forest Hill Road by the shops. So a double scam...

Posting partly to vent as I am so angry and partly to warn others.

I have told the police so they are aware...

    • Love Dulwich is great but has a large step in front. We have only been weekdays at Lunch time. Maria's next to Picture House is disabled friendly. Also can reserve table in advance. We did a Sunday lunch catch up with family - there were 8 of us.
    • Hi, Thinking about  going with some friends and was just wondering if folk might like to report back please. Most importantly sound level when busy & is it disabled friendly.  Thinking on a Sunday lunchtime but don’t want a busy busy environment or loud chatter - a couple of friends could not cope. Time can be flexible, if that helps - say 2 ish to avoid above.. Thanks…
    • Nice that the drinks have started up again. I used to arrange them when they first started and I met some good friends through them. We used to get 30+ people going at one point. The karaoke night at The Wishing Well was very memorable!
    • Yes, absolutely! in comparison to now, you are 100% correct!
