SuzieK
Hi everyone,I am about to embark on a loft conversion and kitchen extension and need a party wall agreement.I have been researching online and it looks like companies charge ?50 - ?100 for arranging. I have also found that you can down load your own forms and do it your self. It looks simple enough and has the added bonus that it is less formal so I could take the forms round in person and they can give me the acknowledgement letter rather than having to post it back.Any advise?ThanksSuzie Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/31297-party-wall-agreement-do-it-yourself-or-use-a-company/ Share on other sites

LalKJ
Hi SuzieWe are just about to do a kitchen extension so have just been through the Party Wall stuff too. We did it all ourselves. Your architect/building company should give you some guidance and send you electronic copies of the various party wall notices. It is a bit complicated making sure you send the right notice to the right people, but you just need to sit down for the evening to prepare them from the pro formas, and in my opinion, certainly not something worth paying for. Good luck Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/31297-party-wall-agreement-do-it-yourself-or-use-a-company/#findComment-635468 Share on other sites

Alan Medic
Hope they 'agree'. My neighbour decided to bribe a difficult other neighbour to get them to sign. Who's going to carry out an independent conditon survey of your neighbouring properties? DIY?, more like see you in court... LondonMix
Indeed. Bribing with a bottle of wine is usually enough :) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/31297-party-wall-agreement-do-it-yourself-or-use-a-company/#findComment-635703 Share on other sites
red devil
Unlikely to provide sufficient neutral evidence in the event of a claim being made... Guest
Does anyone know if you need to enter into a party wall agreement with every adjoining property?I have a semi-detached property and therefore there is only 1 immediate neighbour. But on the other side of my house, I have about 10 properties (ie their back fence is adjoined to my side fence). The closest building structure to the extension I will build is at least 20m away. Guest
No there's no brick boundary nearby. Each adjoining property has a timber fenceThanks, it may seem I will only need to enter into one party wall agreement.
