Recycling - who to contact?

The guys that come around weekly to pick up the blue boxes manage

to leave loads of paper, tin cans etc on the streets,

is there anyone we can contact about this at the council or has it

been outsoursed to a private company ? Anyone know the score ?

Best to report it to the Council...am sure you will get somewhere if you look on their website www.southwark.gov.uk and tap in recycling. Failing that call 020 7525 5000 and ask to be put through to environment and leisure :))

We were sent a 'who to call in ED' leaflet by southwark council or one of the political parties a few months back going through all the best numbers for various services and amenities both public and private.

Perhaps this could have a home somewhere on the forum? or maybe there is a number for 'who to call when you lose this leaflet' number.

If it was one of the political parties, it would be amusing if the services listed reflected this -

e.g 'compliant rent boys' may be listed by one party,

'complaints about the poor, but pretending to be socially minded' could be from another

and 'I've lost my observer supps' another - but which ones?

Either way, it could be useful - will check it tonight.

Council's environment line is 0207 525 2000. Yes they do manage to drop loads of stuff. You have to sometimes complain a few times before they get better!
