kerry.finlay
HelloAfter some advice for a friend.Does anyone have any advice/tips on tranistioning a 2.5 yr old who has had a sole-charge nanny since the age of 1 yr to a nursery? We have a toddler the same age who recently started nursery, but we've done a nanny share from the age of one so she'd been used to being dropped off elsewhere and left with other people. So different scenario really. Any wisdom greatly appreciated, as always! Thanks Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/31387-transitioning-toddler-from-sole-charge-nanny-to-nursery/ Share on other sites
esme
Mix as much as possible, go out and about as much as possible, just generally socialise to ger him/her used to more people and noise etc. Kids are incredibly adaptable, so even if settling in period is tough s/he will get used to it and have lots of fun with all the other children at nursery - my son went from childminder (he had been with since 8 months til 2 and a bit years) to nursery and took a few weeks but he was fine and absolutely loved the additional stimulation and space to run around - still does in fact :) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/31387-transitioning-toddler-from-sole-charge-nanny-to-nursery/#findComment-637140 Share on other sites
Saffron
Can you do a 'fade' from nanny to nursery during your settling-in time?
