Ebay brokers in SE22 (ish) ?

A friend told me that some people make a good few bob going round to people's houses and sorting out things for selling on Ebay. Then do all the admin stuff for you for a small commission. So you basically get a spring cleansed home and extra cash, while someone does your legwork for you. Does anyone around here do this? Or know anyone that does? Our house could do with a right old going over.

All advice really welcome. x

Oh if only :(

We have loads of stuff to pass on, and have sold plenty on the EDF before...but our lifestyles are such that we need someone to just take the whole lot off our hands and sort it for us. When you think what's involved:

- taking all the photos

- writing all the descriptions

- answering all the qs

- waiting in for people to view (and possible no-shows)....

having someone do the whole thing for you at 10% ish commission is very attractive :)

I looked into this a while ago as I sell lots for charity. Never got round to taking up their services but the people are called Trading Assistants and you can find them on ebay. Don't know if they actually come to sort out your stuff but you either have to get it to them or some do collect and then do everything for you.

There's one in my area (SE24) and one in SE23 who works within a 5 mile radius of SE23.

Type in Trading Assistants in google and it will take you to the page on ebay where you can find out more.

I could do this for you. I have had an eBay account since they started, and currently hold a 100% star rating (important when potential buyers are weighing up whether to buy from you). As I am putting my 'reputation' on the line, I would need to put honest descriptions of the goods you want to sell, and I might advise you that certain items are not worth the effort. Unless the item is too bulky to post, it is very unlikely that anyone will ask to view first. When sold, someone needs to wrap and post the item - I could do this too if you would prefer.

    • If you want to change a radiator and it is the same size, pretty straight forward.  isolate by turning the two valves, one is straight forward hand twist, the other side you need to take the cap off and get an adjustable spanner and turn till closed.  Both clockwise. Use the same spanner to undo the large nuts that fix the radiator to the pipework, open the bleed valve, get a flatish container to catch the water which is likely to be a grotty black, sheets/plastic underneath to protect floor/floor covering.  Then jiggle off, tipping as quick as you an into your water container. Fingers crossed it will be the same back plate fitting.  If not you will have to take the old one off and fix the new one. Replacement is a reverse, allowing the rad to refill and let the air out. No naked flames involved. If it is a different size I can advise on that too. Lots on line too: https://www.toolstation.com/help-and-advice/how-to-guides/how-to-remove-radiator?gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=19747119835&gclid=CjwKCAiAkvDMBhBMEiwAnUA9BR26YwBA6kOfcR4-JVxfJEjWdhRk6j0imCNcsIfu064wHN54-cs10xoCZ4cQAvD_BwE Although this is for a pressurised (combi) system where you need to get it back to pressure.  Pretty simple.  I don't bother with jointing compound.
    • Fair enough - I'm absolutely wrong on that one. 👍
    • I'm still completely unclear what happened, apart from that a car apparently crashed into a lamp post opposite the Co-op. I presume the one in Lordship Lane, though the OP doesn't say. Was it speeding? Did it swerve to avoid someone who ran into the road? Did something go wrong with its brakes or steering? Did the driver have a medical emergency or fall asleep or got  distracted by something? Was there something slippery on the road surface? Was the driver hurt? Were any passengers hurt? Were any pedestrians or other road users hurt? Were there any witnesses?
