Sol
Did you know that there is a Company taking congestion charge payments which is not the official website and takes a fee for doing the payment on your behalf which is about ?6. Surely that shouldn't be legal, but according to CC London it is as they are doing the payment for you. The offical website ishttp://www.tfl.gov.uk/roadusers/congestioncharging/6743.aspxThe one that want to rip you off is this one, they may be more though:http://www.paylondoncongestion.com/pay-charge Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/31515-congestion-charge/ Share on other sites
seemster
Wow, that's mad! So some people are paying ?16 instead of ?10? Poor mugs! Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/31515-congestion-charge/#findComment-637902 Share on other sites
Sue
There's a similar thing going for passport applications, which is also apparently quite legal. They rely on people being in a hurry, googling, and clicking on the first thing that comes up without properly checking what the website actually is and what you are actually paying for. Jeremy
The website states clearly that it's not the official TFL site, and that they charge extra. They're hardly ripping anybody off.Does seem like a bit of a strange business idea though. StraferJack
the website does state it's not official and will charge a fee - but it's not in big text, and it's not in the red callout NB text. It's in a relatively chunky block of text which I'm guessing many people skim-read if at all, assuming all else looks ok having looked at the large, bold and coloured textIt's there, but it's cheeky IMO Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/31515-congestion-charge/#findComment-637911 Share on other sites
