Hello you all! This is my first post.

I am writing here cause I would like to know if anyone is aware of what happened last night probably between 18 and 19 in front of bus stop F "Champion Hill"?

Walking home I saw a police car parked along the sidewalk where the bus stop is with tape securing the area. There was a cardboard wall raised to hide something with a curtain hiding what was behind. The two police officers present at that time looked like they were waiting for something but did not seem to be in much of a rush or anything. By walking past I was able to get a sneak peek of what was behind the curtain and I only saw a "blanket" covering something... Now, my first thought was someone had died and the police had covered the scene, but it is all my own speculation.

Does anyone know exactly what went on? Mostly out of curiosity, but I would like to know if there is anything to be aware of too.

I haven't a clue but if it was an actual crime scene I think there would be more than a couple of police stood there with a small area taped off.

In fact you wouldn't be able to even walk past because forensics would need to examine the scene.

so its a mystery but crime related?

I doubt it especially if a fatality is involved.

If you’re referring to outside DKH school, it was earlier an incident took place.

My colleague told me as he got off the bus to collect his children, a man collapsed. He had a heart attack.

Not a good ending.

Apparently the teachers were out there helping the man too.

    • Thanks Penguin. It could be a coincidence. But after years of road safety being on the local agenda they finally put the crossings in months before Dulwich Estates regain the lease on The Grove.   The Estate understands there is strong local interest in improving this area and we hope to be in a position to share some exciting updates in the near future. The temporary skatepark will remain unaffected. “Temporary skatepark” is telling.
    • Back to my earlier post about familiarity.  I was in Croydon this afternoon walking between the two main stations.  Didn't feel unsafe, but there were some 'interesting' characters on the street.  Not that any were bothered with me. Not a place I'd choose to go for a bit of a fun.  Although having said that West Croydon has some cracking restaurants and the wonderfully named Saints and Sinners bar, where I once went on a corporate do - not that I did many of these. Whoops just checked and it closed a few months ago. Back on track, I never went to the Castle as I felt it was a bit rough.  How wrong was I?  Only real pub left in the area.
    • Wow Sue! I was reading your post with interest as I’ve never really felt unsafe in London and I was born here. It was just your last paragraph that derailed me and totally changed the subject matter! So unnecessary.
