Rear Car camera stolen on Hansler Road

Hope this is a one off and doesn't happen to anyone else, but thought I'd mention that we've had our rear car camera nicked off our car whilst parked on Hansler Road. Not sure what can be done to prevent it or if it's possible to protect the camera. Sadly, looking like it's going to be expensive to replace :(
