SarahR
Hi there, we are potentially moving to the area after the Jan 15th state schools application deadline, and wonder if anyone else has also been in this position, and if so what they did to secure a school place in the new area? Thoughts welcome! Thanks. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/317153-moving-to-area-after-schools-application-deadline/ Share on other sites
Soylent Green
Do you have an address in this area yet? If missing the deadline is because of a house purchase deadline, I would use your new address and hope that you are in situ before offers day and proof of address is required. If you do not yet have an address, you will have to apply to the LAs and the individual schools and join waiting lists. You will be offered a place at an undersubscribed school and then you can stay on the waiting lists for your preferred schools. If you are looking at primary schools, most good schools are now undersubscribed because of the falling birth rate, so this is not too odious. However, there is much more pressure on secondary places.
